This season, a trio of dis- tinctive beauty brands bypasses the usual sunsets and roses for more original sources of inspiration. Victoria Beckham fans rejoiced when the fashion designer announced her first makeup collection in collaboration with Estée Lauder (Neiman Marcus, 737 N. Michigan Ave., 312- 642-5900; neimanmarcus. com). The limited-edition line pays homage to Beckham's favorite cities— London, LA, New York, and Paris—with curated looks that include a matte bronzer, an emerald-hued eye shadow, and a "perfect nude" lipstick. Makeup looks from the runway are sometimes too dramatic for the street— with the notable exception of Armani's Fall/Winter 2016 show. Created by Linda Cantello, the brand's international makeup art- ist, the Giorgio Armani (Neiman Marcus, see above) eye shadows and face pow- der draw directly from the collection's fabric swatches and were used backstage. With his Lips & Boys series, Tom Ford (66 E. Oak St., 312-605-5041; tomford.com) puts the gentlemen in his life on your pout. Introduced in 2014, the line has added 25 striking new shades named after men who have influenced the dashing trendsetter. Highlights include Jon, a shimmery deep plum, and Cristiano, a bright red. Now there's a story to tell! . MAKE AN IMPACT THIS SEASON'S HOTTEST BEAUTY COLLECTIONS ARE INSPIRED BY THE MYSTERY OF FASHION, TRAVEL, AND FRIENDSHIP. "We call it 'wearable runway,'" says Linda Cantello of the makeup she created for Giorgio Armani's Fall/Winter 2016 show, which includes a face powder and eye shadow palette ($120, BELOW) whose container is swathed in fabric straight from the catwalk. 96 MICHIGANAVEMAG.COM PHOTOGRAPHY BY CATWALKING/GETTY IMAGES (MODEL); NEILSON BARNARD/GETTY IMAGES (BECKHAM); VITTORIO ZUNINO CELOTTO/GETTY IMAGES (FORD) includes (CLOCKWISE FROM TOP) Bronzer in Java Sun ($65), Lip Gloss in Moroccan Heat ($36), Eye Palette ($95), and Lip Pencil in Victoria ($30). of Armani's Fall/Winter STYLE BEAUT Y
