GUIDE beauty Color Salon by Michael Boychuck mixes classic Hollywood glamour with modern design. hair majesty THESE HIGH-END VEGAS SALONS SHOW THAT TENDING TO YOUR TRESSES DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A HAIR-RAISING EXPERIENCE. BY ANDREA CORRAL Whether sipping Champagne in the Lather Lounge or sharing tea with your significant other during a couple's Loveseat pedicure, at Color Salon you'll feel as pampered and indulged as a Roman empress—or Hollywood royalty. ( Just ask Paris Hilton, who gets her locks styled here nearly every time she jets into town.) Offering crystal facial art, luxuriant Hairdreams extensions, restorative chardonnay manicures, and more, this Augustus Tower salon (use the VIP valet on Flamingo Road), with its rows of glistening chandeliers and glam atmosphere, will make you look and feel like a star. Caesars Palace, 866-730-7791; colorbyboychuck.com Cristophe Salon Famed hairstylist Cristophe opened his first eponymous salon in Beverly Hills nearly 30 years ago and now has outposts across the country, including at MGM Grand. Carrying its own haircare line, the salon offers extras like Kérastase hair treatments, lash extensions, and special bridal and bachelorette packages—for a night out that includes spa treatments, hair and makeup, Champagne and strawberries, and a limo. Windmill Lane, Ste. 130, 702-671-4000; hotboxsalon.com Kim Vō Salon Flamboyant celebrity colorist Kim Vō recently moved his hair hot spot (one of four in the US) from Mirage to Palms. Also a red-carpet beauty correspondent for TV Guide Network, Vō favors over-thetop glam, which shows in his Braid Luxe Lounge, wig bar, and other fun stations that help guests experiment to find just the right color and style before committing to a stylist armed with scissors and dye. Palms Casino Resort, 702-942-6909; palms.com LifeSpa + Salon by Michael Boychuck Located inside the elite fitness haven Life Time Athletic in Summerlin, this salon and spa is the cherry on top of a workout. Whether you're there for a haircut, extensions, or sun-kissed highlights, indulge in some Kérastase shopping. LifeSpa also has a full medical spa with an extensive list of beautifying treatments, directed by one of the city's most renowned plastic surgeons, Dr. Terrence Higgins. And as a bonus, nonmembers who spend at least $70 for service receive gym access for the day. 10721 W. Charleston Blvd., 702-214-6124; michaelboychuck.com Platinum Entourage The bigger, the better, they say, and at this 8,000-square-foot hair paradise, it's certainly true. Known as Vegas's first blow-dry bar, Platinum Entourage specializes in, yes, blow-outs—by its "blow pros"—and makeup services, each starting at $35. It was recently expanded to nearly eight times its previous size, and the new space adds a VIP lounge (cut and color by referral only), catering by BJ's Cocktail Lounge, and Strip hotel service. Its suitelike space for group parties even boasts a private patio, "room service," and complimentary bubbly. 6670 S. Tenaya Way, Ste. 140, 702-410-5459; blowdrybarlasvegas.com Violet Hour Book in at the über-stylish Cosmopolitan, where Violet Hour transforms clients from dowdy to dazzling with airbrush tanning and waxing services, makeup applications, Spa Ritual vegan nail care, and even massaging shampoo bowl chairs. Ask about the variety of hair services, including treatments with Shu Uemura and Keratin Complex products for a super-shiny mane. Cosmopolitan, 702-698-7272; cosmopolitanlasvegas.com V BLOWN AWAY A full-blown chat with Platinum Entourage's mane man and CEO, Todd White. How do your new blowouts differ from those on the main menu? My team is comprised of editorial artists, so the "catwalk" menu ($55) features that season's top runway looks. Do you attract tourists as well as locals? I thought that tourists were an untouchable market, but about 40 percent of our guests are staying at high-end hotels on the Strip. Tell us about your expansion. The production studio completes our Warholian vibe. Our guests get a kick out of seeing models and crew scurry through the salon.
