He was born May 29, 1975, in Huntingburg, to Donald and Robin (Huckelby) Barnett. He was married to Beverly Chandler on March 15, 2018. He was a machinist specializ- ing in tool sharpening. He en- joyed working in his garage on cars and trucks, and was a member of the Jasper Moose Lodge #1175. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Barnett, of Velpen; four children, Faith Barnett, of Evansville, Gavin Barnett, of Jasper, and Colton Schmitt and Ethan Barnett, both of Velpen; his mother, Robin Barnett, of Velpen; one sister, Crystal Barnett, of Loogootee. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Barnett. There will be a memorial gathering and celebration of life from 1-4 p.m. EDT on Sep- tember 19, 2021, at the Ruritan Community Center in Otwell. Morris, 50, of Haysville, passed away at 4:16 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Campus in Jas- per. He was born in Hunting- burg on February 24, 1971, to Billy Joe and Alice Ann ( Jef- fries) Morris. He married Bethelyn Wood- all on September 14, 2002, at Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a 1989 graduate of Jasper High School. A fter high school, he went on to work at local factories as a sprayer. He worked as a bouncer at the Cal- umet in Jasper. He later went on to become restaurant own- er and operator of Bubba's Bar and Grill in Haysville. He was a former director of the Jas- per Outdoor Recreation. He enjoyed online golf, scratch- off lottery tickets, cooking and grilling. He was an avid Indiana University and Dallas Cowboys fan. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Beth Morris, of Haysville; two sons, Nathanial Woodall, of Terre Haute, and Tanner Morris, of Haysville; mother, Alice Ann Morris, of Jasper; two sisters, Lorie ( Jo) Busold, of Put-In-Bay, Ohio, and Tina (Kevin) Hoffman, of Jasper; two sisters-in-law, Jan- et (Dr. Rodney) Kalb, of Jas- per, and Joyce (Douglas) San- chez, of Jasper; one brother-in- law, Jason ( Jenny) Woodall, of Petersburg; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Septem- ber 14, 2021, at the Bech- er-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with Art Ross, Jr. offi- ciating. RONALD W. McCANDLESS Ronald W. McCandless, 64, of Jasper, formerly of Winslow, entered rest on Saturday, Sep- tember 4, 2021, at his home. He was born on January 2, 1957, in Huntingburg, to Lee and Sandra ( Wilcoxen) Mc- Candless. He was retired from Whirl- pool Corp and also worked at Cathedral Health Care in Jas- per. He is survived by his father, Lee (Nina) McCandless, of Winslow; his children, Melissa Ramos, of Jasper, Jeremy Mc- Candless, of Winslow, and Ciji Lough, of Petersburg; sisters, Leanna White, Tiffany Fraley and Lucinda Rothrock, all of Winslow, and Dustin Bolin, of Union; brothers, Travis Mc- Candless, of Winslow, Jason Brockriede, of Huntingburg, and Brandon Schell, of Peters- burg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Robling, 53, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his home. He was born in Princeton on May 12, 1968, to Robert and Judith Robling. He is survived by his sons, Bryan, Joseph and Richard Robling; daughters, Ashley and Gracy Robling; brothers David and Robbie Robling, and Ryan McCandless; sis- ters, Elizabeth Gonzalles and Michelle Peters; and 11 grand- children. ARLENE JEAN BARRET T Arlene Jean Barrett, 89, of Otwell, passed away on Sep- tember 5, 2021, at her home. She was born in Chrisney on November 2, 1931, the daugh- ter of the late Armon and Lil- lian Young. She was employed at Jasper Memorial Hospital for over 40 years, working as a nurse and managing the Hospital's Cen- tral Supply Department. She enjoyed the outdoors, garden- ing, flowers, traveling, sports and, most importantly, her family. She is survived by her three sons, Steve (Ruthie), of Ot- well, Dave (Keri), of Winslow, and Tim (Gina), of Aurora; six grandchildren, Greg, Trent, Adam, Alec, Emily and El- len; four great-grandchil- dren, Beau, Zoey, Grady and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, of 65 years; sister, Alice Miller; and brother, Charles Young. Kenneth Everett Wright, Jr., 60, passed away in the early morning hours of September 5, 2021. He was born on December 18, 1960, in Lexington, Ky., to Kenneth E. Wright, Sr. and Charlotte ( Wright) Brown. He was a 1980 graduate of Cannelton High School and spent his life living in Ken- tucky, Indiana and Ohio. He enjoyed walking his dog, Aki- ra, and sitting outside listening to classic rock music and bib- lical talk shows on the radio. He is survived by one daugh- ter, Misty (Kevin) Gray; one son, Adam Wright; his mother, Charlotte Brown; three broth- ers, Mike (Tina) Wright, Dan Wright and Sean (Theresa) Wright; sister, Carlene Suiter; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Tori, Maddie, Elizabeth, Alex, Gabe, Jarin, Serenity and Tem- perance; five great-grandchil- dren, Avah, Bella, Lilly, Em- ma and Joey; stepmother, Bet- ty Wright; aunt, Joan Trayler; uncle, James Sadler; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born on January 31, 1957, in Vincennes, to Melvin O. and Joan Coffman. He had been working for Wabash Foods following his retirement from Toyota. He is survived by his son, Drew Coffman, of Vincennes; daughter, Courtney Coffman, of Vincennes; grandchildren, Hadley, Jaxson, Alexis and El- liott; brothers, Jim and Jerry Coffman; and sisters, Kay Gib- son and Joanette Hawkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Lisa (In- gersoll) Coffman, in 2017. Shafer, 77, of Campbelltown, passed away September 12, 2021, in Jasper. He was born April 14, 1944, to Garrett Frank and Edna Shafer, in Oakland City. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Old Ben Coal Company after 36 years. He is survived by his sons, Jason (Shannon) Shafer and Nicholas Shafer; daugh- ter, Danuielle Shafer; step- son, Owen (Crystal) Haw- kins; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Mick (Shirley) Sha- fer; nieces, Judy and Kelly; nephew, Michael; and a spe- cial person close to his heart and lifelong friend, Ululani. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Shafer; sons, Kenneth Wayne and Anthony Brent Shafer; and sister, Jill H. Shafer. BILLY MAT THEW HARVEY Billy Matthew Harvey, 75, of Petersburg, passed away on September 13, 2021, at Cathe- dral Nursing Home in Jasper. He was born in Washing- ton, on December 16, 1945, to Carrol "Bill" and Ula ( Jacobs) Harvey. He graduated from Peters- burg High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Vet- eran. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 27 years, retir- ing in 1997. He is survived by his sister- in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, To- ny Harvey; and a sister, Sha- ron Van Meter. She was born on Oct. 19, 1951, in Okawville, Ill., to Eu- gene and Dorothy "Newton" Shomate. She had worked at Prince- ton Wal-Mart. She is survived by her son, Sonny Tinsley, of Princeton; a brother, Carl ( Janet) Shomate, of Oakland City; brothers-in- law, Edward Koca, of Princ- eton, and John Corcoran, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
