Fourth went to Shelby Doades of North Knox in 53.56. McFarland had a time of 18.35 in the prelims and Cheyenne Brewster 20.45 for 11th in qualifying. The 400 relay team of Ashby, McFarland, Leighty and Hadley finished in third with a time of 53.50 seconds, their best of the season. Gibson Southern won the event at 51.72 with Princeton second in 52.88 and fourth went to Washington at 56.01. The 1,600 relay team of McQueen, McFarland, Leighty and Ashby finished fourth to move on with a time of 4:36.96 and Princeton was fifth in 4:38.31. First went to Gibson Southern in 4:09.89; second to Vincennes Rivet in 4:24.51 and third to North Knox at 4:26.94. Ashby finished in fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.28 with Marissa McCarter of Vincennes Lincoln fifth in 1:05.81. The top three were Hannah Wise of Vincennes Rivet at 1:01.13; Madelene Raley of Gibson Southern at 1:02.12; and Kirby Jones of North Knox 1:03.63. Lindsey Catt did not place and had a time of 1:13.55. Leighty ended up in second place in the pole vault competition clearing 8-3 and barely missing at 8-6. Taylor Anthis of Princeton won the pole vault at 8-6. Cheyenne Padgett was seventh clearing 6-0. Leighty did not make the finals in the long jump. Janessa Foster was fourth in the shot put competition with a best throw of 32-7.5. Makayla Jordan of Gibson Southern was first at 36-4.25, Vanessa Greer of Princeton second at 35-1.5 and Teia Rey of South Knox third at 34-1.75. Fifth went to Jessica Downey of South Knox at 32-1. Foster was also fourth in the discus competition with a best toss of 102-5 with Madison Spears of North Daviess fifth at 97-8. First went to Vanessa Greer of Princeton at 107-6; Alyssa Bright of Gibson Southern was second at 107-2 and Ashlyn Stoll of Washington third at 105-3. Hadley finished eighth in the 100 dash prelims with a time of 13.87 and took seventh in the finals at 14.29. Amanda Cook missed the finals with a time of 15.23. Hadley was ninth in the 200 dash in 29.98 and Katherine Young 13th clocked at 30.86. Makaila Mason finished in seventh place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:48.35 and Selena Guzman was 12th in 2:55.41. Guzman took seventh place in the 1,600 run in 6:27.44 and Kaylee Gray was not in the top 10. Lauryn Davis did not make the top 10 in the 3,200 and her time was not available. The 3,200 relay team of Davis, Gray, Harley Brinkman and Candie Miller placed eighth in 13:31. Padgett and Allison Sheffler tied for ninth in the high jump both clearing 4-6. Colton Corlett tied for fourth in the high jump clearing 5-8. He qualified for the Regional event. Dalton Riley did not make the finals. Corlett also finished fourth in the pole vault clearing 11-6. Austin Bolin did better clearing 13-0 and taking second place. Blake Marsee finished first at 13-6. Joey Carroll was fifth in the shot put with a best of 42.7.5. Kenton Key did not make the finals. Neither Carroll or Sheldon Kempf made the finals in the discus event. The Pike Central 400 meter relay team finished second in the Sectional to advance to the Regional. They also set a new school record at 44.93 seconds. JV softball team ends year By Mike Johansen The Forest Park Lady Rangers JV softball team scored too often for the Pike Central Lady Chargers JV to keep up in the final junior varsity game of the season last week. The Lady Rangers scored two runs in the first inning on a single, hit batter and a double. They added three more in the second fame to lead 5-0. Ashli Riley and Alyx Abbott were the pitchers and Whann the catcher. McCammon had a double and a single; Abbott a double and a single and Whann a double. Hudson had two walks and a run; Boudakian one walk and a run; Cannon a walk and a run scored; Abbott scored once and McCammon twice. The Lady Chargers committed five errors in the field. FiSh DAy!!!
