She was the Char- gers' highest finisher at ninth. Unfortunately, Rain- ey missed out on All-Con- ference honors by just one stroke. "I know that was a bit of a let down for her, but I was very proud of the way she played," Gideon said. "She put in a lot of time and it's good to see it pay off for her." Hadley Holder shot the team's next best score. She finished with a 104. She was followed by Sophie Carna- han with a 108, Madison Warner with a 113 and Syd- ney Loveless with a 115. "The girls didn't all play as well as they would have liked, but they stayed posi- tive and kept pushing for- ward," Gideon said. "They always seem to have a pos- itive attitude, even when things aren't going their way and that isn't easy to do, especially with golf." North Posey finished the meet second with a 370. They were followed by Southridge (418), Tecum- seh (419), Pike Central, Heritage Hills (424), Forest Park (486), Tell City (486) and South Spencer (492). Gibson Southern's Claire Jones was the low medalist with a 77. CHARGERS THIRD IN 4-WAY Pike Central also com- peted in a four-way match at the Country Club of Old Vincennes on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Vincennes Rivet fin- ished first with a score of 170. South Knox was sec- ond (194), Pike Central was third (214) and Princ- eton was fourth (222). Rivet's Lily Waggoner was the low medalist with a 34. Rainey led the Chargers with a 48. She was followed by Warner (53), Holder (56), Carnahan (57) and Loveless (59). "It was not great," Gide- on said. "We played okay, but are capable of playing better." Pike Central will com- pete in the Sectional 28 meet on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Country Club of Old Vincennes with Barr- Reeve, Linton-Stockton, North Daviess, North Knox, Princeton, South Kox, Sullivan, Vincennes Lincoln, Vincennes Rivet and Washington. Chargers' senior golfer Madison Warner at- tempts a long putt at Oakland City Golf Course during the Pocket Athletic Conference Meet on Saturday, Sept. 14.
