"The fact is that sin is the most unmanly thing in God's world. You never were made for sin and selfishness. You were made for love and obe- dience." "Sin is not hurtful because it is forbidden, but it is for- bidden because it is hurtful." "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Understand that to enjoy this gift you need to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister Petersburg 812-354-6775 Regular services: Sunday school 9:30 a.m. and worship service and the Lord's Sup- per at 10 :30 a.m. A couple weeks ago, I wrote about giving up. More importantly not giving up. Some of us feel like our life is like that project in the ga- rage, or the jigsaw puzzle on the table, unfinished. Unfin- ished without the urgency or the motivation to finish. And I encouraged, don't give up. You see Paul tells us in the scriptures that we are hard- pressed on every side. That seemingly in life, we feel like life at times is coming down on us from every an- gle. When that happens, we just want to give up. But that isn't where the verse ends. In fact, what Paul actually says is "We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in de- spair. What Paul wants us to know that in Christ, though we are faced with the harsh- est realities, our hope goes deeper and farther than our greatest despair. The hope and the promise is what we carry around. If you read fur- ther in II Corinthians 4:8 -12 you come to see that though we bear the burden of death in this life, it is Jesus' life that is revealed. Don't give up. Grace and Peace. Everyone welcome. DJ Bryant, Pastor Christian Church of Christ BRENTON CHAPEL CHURCH OF CHRIST 1194 E. CR 400 N. In II Chronicles 20 :15, God tells the people not to fear the multitude of the ar- my coming their way, be- cause the battle isn't theirs, but God's. We sometimes try to take on battles that are not ours to fight and wear ourselves out in the process. Before we take anything on, we must go to the Lord, and let Him decide our actions, telling us what part we will have, if any, in the battle ahead. Sometimes we need only be there to witness the glory of God and give Him praise. Denny Wiscaver, Pastor Kimberly Flynn, Reporter LIVING FAITH CHURCH INTERNATIONAL 718 E.
