A big meal is served on Wednesday, and the second and fourth Tuesday, a lighter meal is served following Bingo, donations ac- cepted to help with the cost. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 812-354-8727. Free Clothing Bank - Oak Grove Church in Oak- land City offers a free clothing bank each Tuesday 9 -11 a.m. (Oakland City time) for everyone. They carry new and used clothing. Location is on Morton Street, just past Chuckles. Come to the gymnasium door located at the back of the church. Women's Cancer Support Group - The Lange- Fuhs Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center offers a support group for wom- en who have had cancer of any type or are current- ly undergoing cancer treatment. "Creating Hope" For Cancer Patients - Memo- rial Hospital and Health Care Center is offering Cre- ating Hope® sessions on the first and second Tues- day of each month from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The next session will be on Tuesday, December 11. These ses- sions are designed for cancer patients, their families and caregivers. Art materials and an instructional book are available at each session. No previous art experience is needed. Creating Hope® sessions are free and are held in the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center Conference Room located at the Dorbett Street entrance of Memorial Hospital, 800 West 9th Street in Jasper. Memorial Hospital Offers Class for Expectant and New Parents: "Baby Behavior"- Would you like to better understand your baby's wants and needs? Ex- pectant parents in the last trimester are invited to at- tend Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center's "Ba- by Behavior" class held on Wednesday, December 5 from 6 -7 p.m. It is highly recommended parents take this class be- fore the baby arrives. However, if parents are unable to, this class can be helpful for parents within the first 1-2 months of the baby being born as well. This class is being held in Board Conference Room B/C, located on the lower level of the LCM Tower, at Memorial Hospital, 800 West 9th Street in Jasper. It is free to those who are delivering at Memorial Hospital. The "Baby Behavior" classes are conducted by quali- fied obstetrical nursing personnel. Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group - Dementia is a brain disorder that seriously affects a person's ability to carry out daily activities. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia among senior citizens. Memori- al's Caring Hands Senior Services sponsors an Al- zheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group on the first Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Board Conference Room A, which is located on the lower level of Memorial Hospital near the Tower Café at 800 West 9th Street in Jasper. This support group allows caregivers to come together to share knowledge and experiences in caring for loved ones who are affected by these illnesses. Mrs. Claus at Hornady Park - Mrs. Claus will be in the cabin at Hornady Park reading 'T'was the Night Before Christmas' on Friday and Sunday, December 7 and 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. Come see the lights, visit with Mrs. Claus and enjoy "free" chest- nuts roasted on the new open fire pit at the shelter house by the cabin. Don't Let Late Fees Keep You Out of the Li- brary - The annual Read Away the Fines program is underway at the Oakland City Public Library De- cember 1-30. Patrons with overdue fines can have them waived by reading in the library. $1 towards any late item fees will be credited for every 15 min- utes of reading in the library. This program is open to all card holders. Patrons who think they have an account balance can stop in the library and ask if there are any overdue fees on their accounts or call the library at 812-749 -3559. Reading with Santa - Santa is in town and wants to read with you! Bring the family and listen to Santa read some of your favorite Christmas books, partake in snacks and crafts. The young woman in the middle is great-great-granny Gladys Engleman, who will be 97 in January. All live in Indianapolis. Gladys grew up in Petersburg, and lived and worked there all her life before moving north to be closer to family.
