By Cindy Petty SG Star-Times Staff Writer cpetty@sgstartimes.com Richard Thomas, who, along with his wife, Jennifer, own Rich- ard's Furniture and Mattress, has more than 40 years of experience in the furniture/mattress business, and he's ready to retire! "I am quitting my business at the downtown location and will be mov- ing everything to my Patoka store site. I'm ready to retire but I need to sell a lot of this furniture first," he said. The final day of operation at the Princeton store will be Dec. 31. "And then it will be closed forever," Richard added. He noted that the good quality, low-cost furniture will be reduced for even more bargains. "Now is the time to purchase your living room, bedroom, and dining room furniture," he noted, "everything must go! " Their huge liquidation sale includes dozens of recliners at reduced prices. Sofas have been reduced, starting as low as $497. Owner Richard Thomas and his family are proud to say that low overhead helps them to offer ex- tremely low prices. Richard is of- ten known for telling others, "If you didn't buy it at Richard's, you prob- ably paid too much! " The Mattress Outlet Store opened about one and one-half years ago at what had been Richard's Furni- ture and Mattress Store's old ware- house in Patoka, along the US -41 North corridor. "We needed more space to be able to offer more selec- tions and varieties. I believe that we have the largest selection of Amer- ican-made mattresses in the area," Thomas added. Richard's is also a Simmons Beautyrest dealer; one of the best brands in the US. Richard's Furniture and Mat- tress is located on 108 N.
