Two children in each grade at PES were selected to ride a fire truck to school last Thursday morning. The children were given questionnaires about fire safety to fill out with their families. Each child who completed the ques- tionnaire was put in a drawing to be selected. The winners were: Baylin Davis, Jocelyn Blemker-Like, Sophi Wilson, Jude Fretwell, Taylor Rus- sell, Paisley Willis, Ellie Arnold, Brayden Fryrear, Jacob Smitson, Kylie Meyer, Devon Beadles and Addyson McDowell. The children were driven from the Petersburg Fire Department on Illi- nois St. south to Main St. and then north on Main St. to the school. Jefferson Township, Union Community and Patoka Fire Departments participated in the event. Craig said children from all of those communi- ties attend Petersburg Elementary School.
