Dubois County Museum opens for holiday season The Dubois County Mu- seum opens their Christmas holiday season on Thursday, Nov. 15, with the opening of the annual Festival of Trees. Admission to the museum is free this night. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the viewing of eleven specially decorated Christmas trees for the festival. There will be a program featuring the St. Joe's Bell Choir from Jasper and a Ne- ja Shah will speak about the customs of India at 6 p.m. Ms. Shad grew up in India, but has lived in Jasper for the past several years. Re- freshments and prize draw- ings will follow the program. The museum will have these trees, as well as, twen- ty more decorated trees on display around the museum over the holiday season be- ginning November 15 and running through January 6, 2019. On display will also be parts of the 1,000 piece col- lection of Santa figurines do- nated to the museum from Kay Smock. Each year the museum volunteers try to display the collection in a different grouping and loca- tion. Some items have been added this year that have not been displayed before. The holiday season also features these scheduled programs: Sunday, Nov. 18, 2 p.m. Haysville Ruritan holds Ru- ritan annual raffle drawing. Thursday, Nov. 22, Closed Thanksgiving. Sunday, Nov. 25 at 1:15 p.m., Kinder Karneval Ger- man Festival for children put on by JHS students studying German. Sunday, Nov 25, Christ- mas Carols sung by the Singing Seniors at 3 p.m. Refreshments. Dec. 1-2 (Saturday and Sunday), O'Tannenbaum Days: Come view the Festi- val of Trees displayed. This year's theme is Americana/ God Bless America Saturday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. Breakfast with Santa, with Christmas crafts, activities, and visits with Santa; Res- ervations required by Nov. 24.
