By Bryon Burruss The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is not only con- sidered the premiere craft brewery in the United States, but also a favorite stop for locals and tourists who enjoy fine food and top-drawer entertainment. And, for those with a taste for local history or an interest in the brewing process, the brewery's tours offer fascinating insight to how an enormously successful business is built and to the creation of some of the most famous ales and lagers in the world. offered at no charge, and culminate with a complimentary beer tasting for those 21 and older. It's here that you learn about Ken Grossman, a local resident who studied chemistry and physics at Butte Community College and California State University, Chico, and developed a love of home brewing in the 1970s. After running his own brewing supply business for sever- al years, Grossman pieced together a small brewery with buddy Paul Camusi and named it Sierra Nevada after his favorite hiking grounds.
