Housing Volunteer of the year Essie Petty with Housing Director, Linda Jeter. "This year's Administrative Volunteer of the Year has been a great friend to the Senior Center for many years. In addition to doing our newspaper in the Shelby Shopper, last year he organized a huge food drive with several other partners for our food pantry. With lots of love and many thanks we would like to honor Greg Ledford and the Shelby Shopper as our Administrative Volunteer of the Year," said Paulette Putnam Executive Director. Living Healthy with Chronic Pain The Cooperative Extension Service is offering a 6-week workshop series on "Living Healthy with Chronic Pain". The workshop will be held on Tuesdays, April 25-May 30. Each session assists participants in developing better self – man- agement skills while discuss- ing topics such as: distraction techniques, preventing falls and improving balance, pain/fatigue management, introduction to physical activity and exercise and much more! The work- shop is funded through Region C – Area Agency on Aging and is free to the public. Those who attend the workshop will receive a free book and cd to accom- pany the course.
