The Jv head coach will be Dan Ackley and the Varsity head coach/ pro- gram head is Corey Hein. They have been in spring training for the last two weeks starting on May 21 and ending on June first. Spring training includes both Jv and Varsity football teams. Hein feels that it is going well. "We've had a great turn out. There is a ton of energy, posi- tive coaching, and the players are learning a lot," said Hein. Hein has brought a whole new look into the way the pro- gram works. He is pushing to think of the football teams as one program as opposed to three individual levels. Hein wants the teams to compete every week. He be- lieves that the constant compe- tition will put them in a position to win the tough games. The team will be holding fundraisers this year. They have already started their lift-a-thon and will be sell- ing water during graduation. Along with that, the team will be selling discount cards next Fall. Hein believes that the team has a lot of talent, but thinks they need early success to gain confidence. "It will take more work than they've been putting in these last couple years to acheive our 'team first' motto. The athletes will have to sacrifice time and be put in situations they prob- ably won't like. We're hoping to acheive more by holding a man- datory summer weight train- ing," said Hein. Hein's aspirations for the program are to improve over- all as a program, play football the right way, be disciplined in what they do, and have the Var- sity team make it to play-offs. Hein's goals are clear and will make their debut in Fall.
