The team's success has not been out of the ordi- nary for juniors Daniel Frantz and Peter Mitzel, as they lead a young team comprised of fresh- men and sophomores to a third consecutive attempt at a league title. "Our hard work and dedica- tion to the game has led to our consistency on the golf course. We know that the harder we work, the better we get," said Peter Mitzel, junior. The Red Bluff High School golf team has a match com- ing up at Tuscan Ridge Golf Course in Paradise. With only a 2.5 point lead over Los Plumas, who holds second place, the team needs to extend the lead going into the final match of the season at Diamond Mountain Golf Course in Susanville. As of now, the Spartans have 19 total points while Los Plu- mas has 16.5. "Our match at Tuscan is ex- tremely important because if we can build a good enough lead, then we can lock up our league title going into Lassen," said Kyler Puckett, sophomore. The individual league MVP race is close as well. Two Spar- tans, Daniel Frantz and Peter Mitzel, are in first and second, followed by three Oroville play- ers. The top golfers on each team are not nearly as impor- tant as the bottom three in the race to a league title.
