Five teenagers go on a weekend trip to a creepy cabin in the woods, where there, they will await their inevitable fate of some kind of supernatural monster or serial killer murdering every last one of them. Indeed, The "Cabin in the Woods" looks like a predictable, unoriginal, slasher film. But in reality, it is the exact opposite. "The Cabin in the Woods" manages to create a whole new genre of horror film, combining literally every aspect of every scary movie to make one extremely strange, but unforgettable film. "The Cabin in the Woods" is full of dark humor that pokes fun at all the cliché lines and scenes of typical horror films while still being able to frighten the audience. It is a scary movie within another scary movie, and until you see it, you will not understand Whole new genre of horror films Entertainment Page 4 May 3, 2012 http://livingincinema.com "The Cabin in the Woods" is exceedingly difficult to explain without giving everything away, and since it is so unpredictable, you really just need to see it to understand. The "Cabin in the Woods" keeps the audience guessing up until the very end, and it is truly unlike any other movie. While some parts are simply ridiculous to the point of being funny, somehow this movie still manages to give you the creeps. When "The Cabin in the Woods" is not attempting to scare you, it is making you laugh with jokes and extremely dark humor. The writers of this movie may be a little twisted, but I have to give them props for creating the first horror film to ever include every generic scary monster imaginable. A girl cries as a zombie tries to kill her. why everyone is describing it as "crazy," "weird," or my personal favorite, "I don't even know what I just watched." On the surface, the plot line of this movie follows five friends on their trip to a sketchy cabin in (yes, you guessed it), the woods. At first, just like every other horror movie, they 'The Raven' thrilling movie all around Edgar Allen Poe Bringing Poe's poems to life, a muderer uses "The Raven" to choose his victims Josiah Vasey Staff Writer "The Raven" is a thrilling murder mystery revolving around the famous 19th century poet Edgar Allen Poe. For those who don't know him, Edgar Allen Poe was a poet famous for his grisly and dark storytelling. He mostly writes about death, pain and murder. He is famous for such works as, "The Pit and the Pendulum" and "The Tell-Tale Heart". In "The Raven", Edgar's poems take a turn for the worst when a murderer starts to bring them to life. The story takes place in Baltimore, Maryland. It is a dark and depressing setting which perfectly matches the film. The plot starts after Edgar has written all of his famous poems. He has gone broke and has writer's block, and his life is not really treating him well. Then he is contacted Edgar Allen Poe(John Cusack) but to help them. "The Raven" is a great Fact of the Issue film that is part romance, part horror and part mystery. It has lots of action and will keep you interested for the whole film. The actors were all perfect for If you are a fan of the famous Edgar Allen Poe then you should see this movie! by the police. A brutal killer has been recreating all of Edgar's stories and the police need Edgar's help to catch the killer. Edgar has little choice their parts and they all did very well. The film wasn't really all too frightening, so don't be expecting a really scary movie. I did find that the plot line was rather unoriginal, with the killer leaving complicated clues and him being one step ahead of the police. It felt like it had been done before. But I still enjoyed the movie. "The Raven" is definitely a film worth seeing. I was pleased with the ending, which I thought wrapped everything up really well. If you are a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, you will definitely be happy with this movie. I wouldn't say "The Raven" is a must see, but it is definitely worth checking out. ignore the creepy signs hinting that they should probably get out of there. Sure enough, that night the teenagers are faced with a redneck zombie family trying to slaughter them. What the teenagers do not know, however, is that they are being filmed throughout the entire night. This movie is unlike any horror film you have ever seen. 'The Five Year Engagement' fails to live up to its hilarious previews This movie has its funny parts and the characters are well developed, but the movie was ultimately too long Rebecca Blanchard Staff Writer "The Five Year Engagement" had a brilliant concept as well as hilarious previews; this makes it all the more disappointing that it was a complete and utter disaster. The only time this movie would be worth watching is if you are sick in bed and have watched everything else on "Netflix". Yes, it had a partially redeeming ending, as well as some humorous jokes here and there. This does not excuse the film's multiple problems. The plot seemed forced and awkward. The character development was well executed, but the characters were near impossible to tolerate and the movie seemed to drag on forever. The film as a whole was so poorly executed it can only be described as cringe worthy. A portion of the scenes didn't fit, nor did it help the film progress. Some of the scenes were meant to be risqué and funny, but just made you wince. Throughout the film the characters did become more real, but the main male character became more and more psycho. It is understandable that characters have some sort of inner conflict, but Tom (Jason Segel) was just http://www.slate.com movie's redeeming jokes. Had the movie been about them, it would have been far more pleasurable. Despite the fact that it was an average length movie, two hours, it seemed to drag on forever. There were a few spots where the movie looked as though it would end, but it didn't. When watching this movie, you might find yourself looking at your watch and wondering when the movie will be over. The previews to this movie put it into a completely different light; the film itself is nothing like the previews display. Don't waste your money seeing this movie, the previews are deceiving and you will be extremely disappointed. Tom (Jason Segal), the main male lead completely unlikable by the end. It was almost unnerving to watch a character fall apart and never truly get back up. The minor characters were much more enjoyable than the main characters; in fact they were the source of most of the Not worth your money nor your time.
