"Dub" Dellinger - Age 93 City Of KM To Host Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 7 The City of Kings Mountain will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7th at 10:00 am at the Children's Playground at the YMCA on Highway 161 (Cleveland Avenue). Activities will include a petting zoo, games, storytelling and activities for the children. For the egg hunt, one gold egg will be mixed in with the other eggs in each age category. Each child that finds the golden egg will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from "Toys R' Us". The Easter Bunny will arrive by fire truck to begin the egg hunt. Mauney Memorial Library, the YMCA, Cleveland County Childcare Connections and Higher Learning Childcare Academy will also be participating in the event. The Easter Bunny will "hop around town" and visit vari- ous daycare centers, assisted living centers and the Patrick Senior Center on Thursday, April 5th and Friday, April 6th. Are you now wondering what kind of question that is? Did you not know that you are lim- ited as to how? I have traveled to five foreign countries and the distance was never shortened. As I was thinking about that, it suddenly came to me. No one has ever told me how to really know a true and living God. I have always just taken it for granted. That mountain that we read of people worship- ping, they saw it. The same is true for the lion and any other false idols. Now I am told to wor- ship a living God that I can't see. Verse 7 says, "If ye had known me, ye should have known my father also; and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him". Now, let's move up to where we are today. Any time you feel the Spirit of a true and living Savior, you feel the spirit of God. How did this come to pass? Jesus bore the cross but only with His Father's permission. Because he bore the cross, He is our intercessor with God, the Father. We get to know a Living God by faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior. We do not have to see Him, just feel His spirit and the cleansing effect it has on our inner- most being. He touches the soul of the one who believes to the point of acceptance and is willing to give their life to Him. Jesus came to earth to die on that old rug- ged cross for the sins of the world, past present and future. While He was here, He taught and blessed and performed miracles, but His main purpose was to be a pure and unblemished sacri- fice for our sins which is something we could have never done on our own. So, how do you get to know a living God? By trusting in His Son, Jesus Christ, who has defeated death, hell and the grave and now sits at the right hand of the Father.
