Hail, rain and wind came into our county last week and some of us like Peters- burg heard and saw 1-1/2 inch hail in five minutes, but Winslow and Ferdinand got less than pea size hail for a few seconds, but we all got plenty of rain. The tulip trees look great but the petals are falling to the ground now. All the flow- ering trees and bushes are either in bloom or they have their small leaves on them and more of the flowers are coming up now, so I guess it's springtime. Some have said the ticks are out and the wasps are buzzing around. The fish are biting now for all you fishermen. Together, in his garden, they fill this lovely land. So get busy and get on with God's gardening. Carl Meeks, Lay Minister Devara Krause, Reporter MT. PISGAH G.B. CHURCH My soul shall be joyful in the Lord (Psalm 35:9) When Jesus Christ is the source of our joy, no words can describe it. It is a joy "in- expressible and glorious (I Peter 1:8). Christ is the an- swer to the sadness and dis- couragement, the discord and division in our world. He can take discourage- ment out of our lives and re- place them with optimize and hope. When are confidence is in Him, discouragement gets crowded out. May that be true in each of our lives today. William Breidenbaugh, Pastor FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 East Main Petersburg Sunday Services—Bible school 9:30 a.m.; worship 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. I read some time ago this definition of the church. "A colony of heaven planted in the midst of earth to reveal what's going on in heaven right now." And then I read this definition of a Christian, "A Christian is one who has found the secret of being completely fearless and con- tinually cheerful but contin- ually in trouble." You may not agree with these definitions and that is ok. This I know for sure is that if you are going to heav- en you must be a Christian and be active in the Lord's church. Come and worship with us. God has a blessing for you.
