The Press-Dispatch ★ Church news Continued from page 6 PLEASANT RIDGE G.B. CHURCH Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10:30; eve- ning service 6:30; Wednes- day evening Bible study and PR youth meeting 6:30. Ev- eryone is always welcome. We want to thank God for His mercy, love and an- swered prayer. Continue to pray for one another, the unsaved, the prayer list, for all who are traveling, the sick and needy, for the ones in hospitals and nurs- ing homes, the military, and their families and the Pres- ident and his family and all decisions that are made. We want to extend our sympathy to anyone who has lost a loved one. When we have a problem, we need to take it to God in prayer. He is just waiting for us to ask Him for the solu- tion. He knows more than we do about the whole situ- ation. Cast your cares upon Him. "Casting all your cares upon Him for He careth for you" (I Peter 5:7). Remember—Sometimes the Lord calms the storm; and sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child. Though: Lord, I can't say it in words—can you please just listen through my heart. Have a great week. Dale Frederick, Pastor Lois K. Fowler, Reporter SPURGEON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH Church service 9; Sunday school 10. Pray daily for those on our prayer list. Read Psalm 23. "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil, for you are with me"(Psalm 23:4 NRSV). Everyone welcome. Honna Schloss, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter AYRSHIRE VALLEY G.B. CHURCH Sunday school 9:30, Jim King, superintendent, Er- ic Hill, assistant; morning worship 10:30; evening wor- ship 6:30; Wednesday Bible study and prayer meeting 6:30. Living by faith Living by faith is not something you try. It's a lifestyle. You do it when it's hard. You do it when it's easy. You're doing it because you know that faith pleases God. Things may get a little rough at times, but let me as- sure you, you'll always come out on top if you endure hardness as a good soldier. If yo refuse to faint and fall away, you will have the victo- ry. The only defeated Chris- tian is the one who quits! "Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (II Timothy 2:3). If you don't have a home church, join us in our ser- vices. Alec Hensley, Pastor Eleanor Bellamy, Reporter ABUNDANT LIFE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH 409 S. 4th St., Petersburg Sunday services 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.; Thursday ser- vice 7; casual study groups for men and women the last Thursday of each month. Come and experience the Pentecostal way with praise, worship and music along with the anointed word of God. Come and experience the blessings and presence of the Lord. God is doing great things for His people in our services. Won't you come and be a part of it? Our youth department en- joyed their skating outing at Evansville on Saturday. Our primary class group is plan- ning an outing coming up re- al soon. We praise God for our service this past Sunday. We had a guest minister on Sunday morning and what a powerful service we had. God is doing many great things for us. We welcomed some new visitors on Sunday. What a blessing it is to see God at work in new people. We wel- come you to come and expe- rience God's word in action. You will find a warm wel- come awaiting you. Our Easter committee is starting their drive for Eas- ter Sunday beginning this Sunday, March 17. There will be prizes awarded dur- ing this Easter drive. We are striving for an overflow crowd on Easter. Come and join the excitement! Jesus is alive and well! He has all the answers for all your problems. For questions or more in- formation call 766-3474. Troy Johnson, Pastor Ron Ficklin, Reporter FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 East Main Petersburg Sunday services: Bible school 9:30 a.m.; Worship 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. In four Sundays we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. Many people all over the world will remember he died for your sins. He was buried in another man's tomb and resurrected on the third day. Christians can shout it from the house tops, "Jesus is Alive." We need to remember that Christianity begins where all other religions end. The founder of Christianity is Je- sus and he is alive. He came forth from the grave. The founders of other religions are still in the grave, only Je- sus is alive. He rose from the grave, ascended into heaven and promised his followers he would come again. He is coming again. Are you ready to meet him? I hope so. Come and worship with us. You will hear the Gospel. Jack Howard, Minister WINSLOW CHRISTIAN CHURCH Sunday school 9:30; morning worship 10:30; Wednesday choir practice 6:30. Remember to pray dai- ly for those on our March prayer list. Read Proverbs 3:5-6. "The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up" (James 5:15). Praying for others is more than an opportunity, it is a privilege God presents to us. When we are asked to pray for someone, we should do it. God will take care of the rest. Everyone welcome come and worship with us. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister ARTHUR G.B. CHURCH We are having a Pre-Eas- ter revival on April 4, 5 and 6th with Ryan Coleman. We invite you to join us. Make your Eas- ter more meaningful and join us to hear God's word. Sunday school 9:30; morning worship 10:30; Youth each Wednesday from 4 to 5:30; Business meeting third Wednesday of each month at 6. We are remembering the family of Jim McCrary and others, in prayer, who have lost loved ones. We are grateful to Kyle Moore for his inspiring ser- mon this past Sunday and welcome Kyle and his fam- ily back this Sunday. Each of us should use whatever gift he has re- ceived to serve others, faith- fully administering God's grace in its various forms (I Peter 4:10). What resources has God given you to work with in life? Has He given you a lot or a little or something in between? All that matters is what you're doing with what you've got. What investment do you need to make in the world? Lord, help us to conquer fear and use our talents for good, for you—Amen. We invite you to join us for our services.
