Dubois County Museum host Historical Treasurers The Dubois County Muse- um will host the fourth year of Historical Treasures of Dubois County on Sunday, March 25 from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. at the museum. Doors are open from 1 to 4 p.m. The program will be in Room II in front of the Log House. The topic this year is natural resources of Dubois County. The public is invited to bring along information- such as a photo, a clipping, or a page reference in a histo- ry book that has information on natural resources. The museum is looking to compile information that is not well known about our soil, our trees, rocks, min- erals, coal, gas, oil, etc. and place this information in- to a book to be available at the museum for anyone who wants to use it. The museum is especially interested in getting the pub- lic input on the best soil in the county; minerals found; history of coal, gas and oil; plants grown (such as cot- ton and tobacco); location of mills; and businesses and owners who made bricks. Ev- eryone will receive a copy of the county map with the townships outlined. The mu- seum hopes to pinpoint the occurrence of the natural re- sources as best as possible. The museum is open Tues- day through Friday from 10 to 2 p.m. Saturday from 10 to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. Closed on Monday. The Dubois County Mu- seum is a local non profit or- ganization committed to the collection, preservation and interpretation of historical artifacts and information im- portant to the citizens of the county. Museum operations are funded by annual mem- berships, donations and gifts from visitors, area residents and businesses. Admission is free; donations are ac- cepted. The DCM staff con- sists entirely of volunteers. It is located in Jasper at 2704 N. Newton Street (US231). Call (812) 634-7733. Allow two hours to view exhibits.
