SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27, 2015 SANTA CRUZ WOMAN 3
One day at a staff meeting we were sitting around
discussing what makes Santa Cruz so different from all
the surrounding markets where our company owns other
newspapers. The obvious answers of surf and beach culture
were discussed. Of course the Boardwalk, and UCSC, but
then the talk turned to how many women-owned businesses
we have. Women in politics. Women in education. Women
in sports. It was there that we decided to celebrate the Santa
Cruz woman.
Welcome to our first issue. We had a lot of fun with this,
and we know there are a lot more great women doing great
things from Davenport to Watsonville and all places in
between. Our plan is to focus and feature positive women
throughout Santa Cruz County on a quarterly basis. If you
have a story idea, or would like copies at your place of
business, let us know at SCW@santacruzsentinel.com.
Our next issue will be out in early December, just in time
for the holidays.
