We have some big changes com- ing. First, there will be some developing weather on either side of Florida by early next week, but I don't know if it will begin in the Gulf side or the Atlantic side. But either way, the upper flow is aligned to bring any system inland into the Southeast, so we will be turning much wetter as next week progresses. The flow around a large high in the north Atlantic will begin to develop strong gale force winds across the Southeast beaches, and a spin will develop near Florida, helping to pull in a large slug of tropical moisture. But the weekend still looks good with sunny skies and high pressure. Meanwhile, Texas and Oklahoma look to get their first rains in a long time, as a huge dip in the jetstream carves out a big trough in the Southwest states, meaning very unsettled weather for the west coast...the beginning of Winter isn't far behind now. How about the snow in the mountains last week, and our near-record cold! My read- ers were the first to be alerted to that possibility, so we're not surprised, are we?
