The Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center, located at 100 TR HIV/AIDS Awareness Harris Drive, Shelby, NC, is proud to offer to the general public a program on HIV and Aids on September 22, 2011 at 10:00 am. The program will be provided by the Western NC Aids Project. Whereas, the program is open to the public, particular interest will be paid to the increases in HIV and Aids in older Americans. Current trends show that HIV and Aids are rising rapidly in older adults. Many seniors are sexually active and are not taking the proper precautions to prevent HIV/Aids or other Sexually Transmitted Diseases. This seminar will address what HIV is, how it can be contracted, how to prevent the possibility of contracting any STD's as well as a condom application demonstration. For more information or for questions, please call 704-482-3488 The Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center, Billiards Tournament located at 100 TR Harris Drive, Shelby, NC, will hold a billiards tournament on September 21, 2011 beginning at 9:00 am. We will use the billiards rules for Senior Games. Please feel free to pick up a copy at the front desk at the Center. Both men and women, age 55 and above are eligible to partici- pate. There will be a men's and women's champion as well as an overall champion. This looks to be a real exciting event, especially as it occurs one week prior to State Senior Games Finals.
