George Fiscus, Minister Mt. pisgah g.b. church "This same Jesus...will so come in like manner as you saw Him go" (Acts 1:11). The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the key to God's plan for the future. Unless Christ was raised from the dead, there can be no future kingdom and no returning King. Unless Christ was raised from the dead, sin and death will reign, and God's plan of redemption remains unfulfilled. But Christ has been raised. As the disciples stood watching, after Jesus as- cended into the heavens, the angels assured them that the risen Christ would some day be the returning Christ. All area youth are invited to attend. We invite all of you to come and worship with us. the resurrection By M.S. Lowndes We hold so close to our hearts, the cross where Je- sus died. But so much more than the blood-stained cross is that Jesus came back to life. The stone's been rolled away, the tomb lay open and bare, they looked for Him, and then the angel said that He is no longer here. Oh what joy they must have felt to see Him just once more, to eat with Him, to drink with Him, to receive Him back as Lord. So much did He accom- plish, through His death up- on the cross and in His ris- ing from the dead, He recon- ciled us back to God. Nothing else could bridge the gap that sin had wrenched apart. Now we can freely go to God and receive Christ in our hearts. Winslow Church 9:30 a.m. and Sun- day school 10 :30 a.m. Joel 2:12 says, "That is why the Lord says, 'Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me all your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping and mourning.'" "Bring everyone-the el- ders, the children and even the babies. Call the bride- groom from his quarters and the bride from her pri- vacy. The priests, the min- isters of God, will stand be- tween the people and the al- tar, weeping; and they will pray, 'Spare you people, O our God; don't let the hea- then rule them for they be- long to you.' Don't let them be disgraced by the taunts of the heathens who say, 'Where is this God of theirs? How weak and helpless he must be.' Then the Lord will pity his people and be in- dignant for the honor of his land," ( Joel 2:15,17). Thursday, May 1 is Na- tional Day of Prayer. If ever our country needed to pray, we need to now.
