Mr. Danner was preced- ed in death by his parents, Herbert Danner and Freida Lorraine Stonebraker Carney and his step-father, George Carney; a sister, Patricia Shaw and a brother, Jim Carney. ROGER DALE THRIFT Roger Dale Thrift, 57, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Services were held at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Grover with military hon- ors. Mr. Thrift served his coun- try in the United States Air Force from 1973-1976. Mr. Thrift was preceded in death by his parents, Hillard Thrift, Sr. and Genelle Ross Thrift and six brothers, Charles Thrift, David Thrift, Richard Thrift, Bobby Thrift, Hillard Thrift Jr., Harold Thrift; and a sister, Alma Thrift Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Redmond Griffin; his par- ents, Gordon Willie Griffin and Estelle Bone Griffin; two sisters, Helen Hathcock and Jewell Wease; and sister-in- law, Rosa Mae Parker. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Meade-Griffin; son, Walter L.
