By James Capozella South Gibson Star-Times staff@sgstartimes.com Wear-dated means a lot in Mohawk carpeting and Holder's Furniture reflects that statement since the family owned furniture store has been a historic icon in Owensville and Gibson County for nearly 140 years, according to owners Monty and Debbie Lamey. Holder's has been known for quality furnishings such as the Mohawk carpet line, La-Z-Boy, Flexsteel, Cochrane, Peters-Revington and Restonic bedding for decades. As usual, the Christmas spirit will be the theme throughout their 15,000 square foot showroom, featuring everything from items for the man cave to every day and formal. Monty and Debbie Lamey own the long time family operated store and are joined by their children: Erika, Joe, Justin and Josh. The store's motto is to provide excellent quality, brand name furniture and great service according to Monty. He added, "A big part of the success of our business over the years has been the absolute commitment to follow up after the sale. Our customers know that anything they purchase from us has our assurance in resolving any issues that may arise." Monty said they stand behind their products 100 percent. The family-run business features quality home interior design with a laid back no-pressure showroom where "people can wander around and look at their leisure, something to enjoy," according to Debbie. The Flexsteel offerings include the complete Flexsteel Design Gallery which includes upholstered and leather sofas, recliners and side chairs. The complete line of Cochrane solid oak and cherry dining room, and bedroom furniture compliments the living room designs. The third annual Christmas Auction drawing will be on December 21. Two tickets are earned toward the auction for every $100.00 purchase. Prizes to be awarded include: a La-Z-Boy rocker/recliner ($399.00 value), a $250 Holder's gift certificate, a $50 Gemeca Inn gift card and a $50 Kenny Dewig Meat gift certificate. The auction is one way the Lamey's are saying thank you to customers both far and near. Debbie said, "We are in the Christmas spirit here at the store. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and are thankful for our many loyal customers." Current sale prices are good for the entire month of December and include La-Z-Boy, Flexsteel, Cochrane, PetersRevington and Restonic bedding, flooring and accessories. In addition to fi ne leather furniture, the store offers Jewelry Amours, gliding rockers, curios, a small portion of the show room is pictured with Holder's furniture owner debbie lamey and her daughter Erika.
