Another Snow Possible...We are in a very unusual Winter pattern for the whole country, especially in the Deep South. Yet another Gulf storm is forecast to form Saturday and begin spreading snow, sleet and rain across the South. There are several ways this could play out, but some snow is likely in all of them, the biggest question is just how much. Cold air should be plentiful around here, so I don’t think we will have to worry about the temperatures. However, there’s a large circulation swirling to our north this weekend, that may act to “squeeze” the gulf low to our south some- what, meaning we only get grazed by the northern shield of precip. So you’ll need to check my blog for the latest updates. Right now, it appears the snow should be knock- ing on the doorstep sometime Sunday. Beyond this storm, more cold air comes pouring in, and I can’t rule out another Deep South storm within a few more days of this one. The extreme “blocking” in Canada and Alaska is the culprit for the unusual weather the last month, and it shows no signs of going away. Have a safe, warm weekend!
