The Christmas story from prophecy to fulfi llment was an hour and a half musical presenta- tion that proved almost unbeliev- able. The soft beginning of the bell ringers’ “O Come Emanuel” began the program. Then, “Go Tell It On The Mountain” set another tone of the arrangement. One might say, the presentation was an ultimate blend of voices and instruments. Somehow, this musical master- piece should be offered again and not missed by anyone. Their “home boy”, Dustin Garver, was the Grand Marshall and then came fi ve young ladies proudly carrying the Carey Heavner Foundation banner. Pictured (l to r), Raya, Sara, Dream, Amber and Haley marching down the parade route. Finally, after the many fl oats and the Burns High marching band, Santa arrived in a horse drawn carriage. But, in spite of the weather a number of soaked participants and parade watchers were in attendance. The candy being tossed from the fl oats ended up in puddles of rainwater and umbrellas were the order of the day. For the brave, being drenched was a badge of honor. Even Santa was hardly vis- ible as he huddled under a large covering. Oh well, ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas to all! –M. A. Clev. County Farm Bureau Receives Recognition The Annual Meeting of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation was held December 5th-7th at the Sheraton Four Seasons and Joseph S. Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC. Congratulations to Cleveland County Farm Bureau President, Jimmy Blalock, (2nd from left) who was recognized among his peers at the Presidents’ and Agents’ Luncheon. Farm Bureau President Larry Wooten presented each winning County President with a limited edition Case knife. Each county’s agency force worked hard to qualify their County President for this recognition. Special plaques were also presented to the agents and agencies whose production was superior during the con- test period.
