The thought was the experience would be a body, mind and soul developer, especially for the children. Their fi rst week in the business meant 150 reservations in the dining room on Friday night and a busy Saturday with music beginning at 9:30 p.m. Chris is an engineering grad from Purdue and worked at Toyota (TMMI) for 15 and a half years, followed by seven years as an engineer at Whirlpool. His wife Cindy is also a Purdue grad, working in licensed social services as a consultant and director in adoptive services. Dottie recently retired from accounting at Atlas Van lines and will be a huge help because of her restaurant knowledge. Chris said they didn't plan any menu changes because the "food is darn good." In a few months, they might offer some healthy choices, but for now everything stays the same, including all the workers who have over the years made the restaurant a huge success and mainstay for the community. The real test is now with one of the busiest parts of the year upon them. Chris is from Fort Branch but spent a lot of time at the Carriage Inn growing up and now has some ideas for the business. He plans to add more TVs real soon and to "stay open as long as customers want on weekend nights." Chris said there are a lot of local people encouraging them and they hope to be able to please everyone through the experience and dedication of the staff and the family. 10 Exquisite Bridal & Formal Wear Fine Bridal Wear and Tuxes Beth Carter features exclusive designs from our private label, BC Collection, and other name-brands.
