A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Erie and Nelly Mae Tessiner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald William Cannon; sons, Donny and Rusty Spurlin; and brothers, James and Miles Tessiner. She is survived by her sons, Steve Spurlin and wife Trudy and Scott Spurlin and wife Angel; daughters, Sue Garrett and Robin Thomas and husband Bo; half-sister, Anise; half-brother, Kenny Tessiner; and seven grand- children. McSwain, 80, of Cherryville, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. J.R. was born on June 14, 1943 in Gaston County, NC, a son of the late Winfred McSwain and Florence Black McSwain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Foster and three brothers, Ralph, Danny and Fred McSwain. Survivors include his wife, Judy Anthony McSwain; two daughters, Pam McSwain (Opal); Angela McSwain; a son, T.J. McSwain (Stephanie) all of Cherryville; six grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Tomlin of Cherryville; Linda Russell of Georgia; and Hattie Curtis White. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandpar- ents; sister, Shirley Hamrick; brothers, Leonard White and Loy White; and son, Jeffrey Dane Davidson. She is survived by her daughter, Trina Davidson Graham; her son, Eric Dane Davidson and wife Joyce; a grandson; a great grand- daughter; her sister, Diane White; and her brothers, Steve White and Dan White. Funeral services were held July 26, 2023 at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Roberts offi- ciating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Jerry was born Saturday, April 16, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Frank Palmer Padgett and Virginia Lowery Padgett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Padgett; brother, Charles Padgett; an infant brother, James Willard Padgett; and brother-in-law, Maurice Huskey. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Casey Padgett; daughter, Karen Bell (Gary) of Boiling Springs, NC; a grand- son; and sisters, Ellen Huskey of Forest City, Trudi Moore (Bill) of Ellenboro. MICHAEL EUGENE WELLMON Michael "Mike" Eugene Wellmon, age 72, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, on July 12, 2023. Mike was born Saturday, November 18, 1950, in Cleveland County to the late Carl Ray Wellmon and Annie Pearl Gantt Wellmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Christopher Wellmon: and two sisters, Kathy Barrett, and Joy Gold. A memorial service was held July 23, 2023, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, with Mr. Cory Warren officiating. CHARLES MARTIN PAGE Charles Martin Page, 81, of Shelby, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Shirley Bacevich and Charles F. Page. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson; and son-in-law, Anthony Nedbal. He is survived by his wife, Janice Page; four children; daughter, Trina Nedbal, and sons, David Page (Leslie Page), Daniel Page (Sandie Page), and Timothy Page (Sheri Page); his sister, Heidi Mauthe; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Born in Kings Mountain, NC, he was the husband of Angela Martin Mayberry and the son of the late Odes and Alice Cash Mayberry. She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Hope Gibson (Jeffrey Addison) of Shelby, NC; two grandchil- dren; a great granddaughter; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Charles. Born March 30, 1950, in Cleveland County, NC, Norma was the daughter of the late Fred Shirley Sisk and Lillian Ruth Huffstickler Sisk and was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Eugene "Gene" Henson, and siblings, Maxine Sisk, Fred Sisk, Ruth Randall, and Freida Blanton.
