WAUKESHA COUNTY FAIR The FREEMAN & ENTERPRISE JULY 2023 3 The Gang's All Here — and then some — at Waukesha County Fair LOCASH, Skid Row, The LoveMonkeys among fair headliners By Brian Huber bhuber@conleynet.com 262-513-2674 WAUKESHA — The Gang's All Here — and then some — at the 2023 Waukesha County Fair, with Skid Row, Warrant and Winger bringing their joint tour to the fair Saturday, joined by a host of other local favorites and national acts on the Main Stage. The first headliner, appearing at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, is the country duo LOCASH, comprised of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas. Since breaking out in 2008, they have been hailed by People magazine as "country music's feel-good duo." They landed a gold No. 1 in 2019 with "One Big Country Song," as well as hits "I Love This Life" and "I Know Somebody." They recently collaborated with Mike Love and Bruce Johnston on "Beach Boys" and are touring to support their current release, "Three Favorite Colors." Elite VIP tickets, including seats in the first three rows, fair admission parking and two drinks, are $75. VIP seating, which is first-come, first-served seating open an hour before the show, and fair admission not included, is $25. The standard gate price is $12 for adults, $6 for youth (6-12 years old) and free for children 5 and under. Friday, July 21, sees P.O.D. and Puddle of Mudd take the stage at 8 p.m. P.O.D. has been melding hard rock, hip hop, reggae and more since 1992, and has been nomi- nated for three Grammy Awards, and sold 10 million albums with hits including "Satellite," "Alive," "Youth of the Nation" and "Boom." Puddle of Mudd is a multiplatinum- selling band formed in 1991, selling seven million albums worldwide, with hits including "She Hates Me," "Blurry," "Psycho," "Famous" and "Control." Elite VIP seating is $75; VIP seating $30. Saturday, July 22, sees a triple-treat of veterans of the '80s hair rock scene, when Skid Row, Warrant and Winger bring the "The Gang's All Here" tour to town, start- ing at 5:30 p.m. Skid Row broke out of New Jersey and conquered stages around the world begin- ning in the mid-1980s, selling 20 million albums with classic rock staples "18 and Life," "I Remember You" and "Youth Gone Wild." Their latest album, "The Gang's All Here," is their sixth. Warrant is another mainstay of the classic rock genre, setting the bar high with a debut album that included "Sometimes She Cries" and "Heaven," selling three million copies in 1989. They followed it up with "Cherry Pie," which is instantly recognizable and has found its way into video games, movies TV shows and more. They also released albums in 2011 and 2017 and did a covered of Merle Haggard's "I Think I'll Just Stay Here & Drink" that has been named the official song of the Professional Bull Riding Association, according to information supplied by the Waukesha County Fair. They are joined by Winger, formed in New York City in 1986 by Kip Winger. Their 1988 debut album went platinum in the U.S. and gold in Japan and Canada, on the strength of such hits as "Seventeen" and "Headed for a Heartbreak." Their next effort, "In the Heart of the Young," was released in 1990, and again reached platinum with songs like "Can't Get Enuff" and "Easy Come Easy Go." Elite VIP seating is sold out for this show, but VIP seats are available for $40. The LoveMonkeys Island Party with JD Rankin closes out the Main Stage lineup with a show at 2 p.m. Sunday. Now in their third decade, the LoveMonkeys have become local favorites around the region with their fusion of pop, rock and reggae sounds creating a vibe unlike any other. They will combine forces with JD Rankin from Kojo, a Milwaukee reggae act whose sounds spread to Illinois and Minnesota. The show is free with fair admission. The fair will feature plenty of entertain- ment on side stages, too. The Coors Light Side Stage lineup includes Ryan McIntyre on Wednesday; Ebert & Grass and Stetsin & Lace on Thursday; Ten Feet Tall on Friday; Four on the Floor and Kings of Radio on Saturday; and Smart Mouth. The Leinie Lodge Side Stage will offer Fool House on Wednesday; Bella Cain on Friday, The Toys — Revisited on Saturday and a Sunday Funday Jam Session featur- ing Phil Norby & Friends. The 2023 Waukesha County Fair will close with an island vibe when the LoveMonkeys Island Party with JD Rankin take the Main Stage at 2 p.m. Sunday. P.O.D. and Puddle of Mudd will appear on the Main Stage at the Waukesha County Fair on Friday night.
