Born in Lincoln County, NC on October 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Clarence D. Brackett, Sr. and Mattie Mosteller Brackett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Eddie Warren Brackett; four brothers, Lee Brackett, Carl Brackett, Lonnie Brackett and C.D. Brackett; and eight sis- ters, Lona Brackett, Ethel Brackett, Pauline Unverzagt, Geneva Colvard, Rebecca Osborne, Eva Hoyle, Evelyn Smith and Virginia Brooks. Survivors include his wife, Corene Davis Brackett; two sons, Tommy Brackett and wife, Wanda of Easley, SC and Eddie Brackett of Cherryville; two daugh- ters, Mari Simpson and husband, Rick of Vale and Sheri Boyles and husband, Doyle of Vale; brother, Fred Brackett and wife, Nancy of Lancaster, SC; eight grand- children and seventeen great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service was held February 10, 2023 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Decker and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. The burial followed in the Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. TERRY MARTIN Terry "Johnny" Martin, 58, Blacksburg, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the widower of Monica Patterson Martin and son of the late Herbert and Sybil Sprouse Martin. Mr. Martin served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving Martin are a daughter, Natasha Foster (John), of Gaffney; four sisters: Debbie Martin of Gaffney, Kim Thompson of Ellenboro, NC, Joy VanDyke (Jimmy) of Gaffney, and Sonya Thornburg (Randall) of Gaffney; a brother, Tony Martin (Angie) of Blacksburg; three grandchildren; and two SYLVIA DIANE ROBERTS Sylvia Diane Roberts, 70, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 8, 2023. She was born in Gaston County, NC, daughter of the late Earl and Willie Mae Scruggs Melton and was pre- ceded in death by a sister, Billie Sue Payne. She is survived by her hus- band, Ben Roberts, of the home; sons: Benji Roberts and wife Tasha and Clay Roberts and wife Melisa, both of Kings Mountain, NC; sisters: Mary Jane Johnson- Bayless (John), Janet Rosser (Eugene), and Cathy Gosnell (Danny); and five grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Edith Hoffman and his in-laws, Donald and Grindella Crate. Don is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Ann Hoffman; and their six children, Maria Goeller (Mark), D. DONNA LEIA WILSON Donna Leia Wilson, 63, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Donna was born in Cleveland County on May 19, 1959 the daughter of Shelva Jean Wilson and the late Robert William (Bill) Wilson. In addition to her father, Donna is preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Bridges and her grandparents. Left to cherish Donna's memory is her mother, Shelva Jean Wilson; and two sisters: Deedee Canipe and Denise Rankin husband David. Dean He was born in Gaffney SC on July 5, 1952 to the late Paul Lee and Catherine Childers Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Joe Gordon and Steven Paul Gordon; second wife, Deborah Gordon; first wife and mother of his children, Beverly Walker Durham. Dean is survived by his wife, Darlene Gordon and one daughter, Abby-Michelle Gordon of the home in Walkertown, NC; one broth- er, Tim Gordon and wife, Ann of Blacksburg, SC; one son, Michael Dean Gordon; and one grandson. Born in Burke County, NC on January 27, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Horace Callaway Hipps and Mary Etta Newton Hipps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence John Izokovic; an infant daughter, Heidi Izokovic; and three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Kelli Izokovic Smith and husband, Mike of Shelby; two sons, Larry Izokovic, Jr. and wife, Pam of Huntersville and Kyle Izokovic and wife, Valerie of Shelby; five sisters, six grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.
