Born in Cleveland County on February 17, 1942, he was a son of the late Jim Devon Brittain and Vacie Mitchell Brittain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Geter Brittain and three sisters, Bonnie Brittain, Ann Reece and Florence Fisher. Survivors include two brothers, Dice Brittain and Alexander Brittain and wife Audrey all of Fallston and two sisters, Peggy Childers of Blacksburg, SC and Irma Goforth Cunningham of Gastonia. Terry was born Tuesday, July 13, 1954 in Rutherford County to Dorris Smith who resides in Forest City and the late William "Bill" Lee Smith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas "Tom" Smith. Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory are his brothers and their wives, Charles Smith (Teresa) of by a son, Jimmy D. England; sisters, Barbara Bridges and Bardee Champion; and brothers, J.D. and Jack Hensley.
