Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Ernest Lee Self and Laura Minnie Brittain Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Rhoney; two brothers, Michael and Gene Self; and one sister, Coleen Boston. She is survived by her daughter Holly; four broth- ers, Coy, Bobby, David, and Farrell Self; and four sisters, Sandy Leatherman, Nell Baker, JoAnn Starnes and Judy Lovelace. LISA MARSH FALLS Lisa Marsh Falls, 58, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Arthur and Cora Anne Champion Marsh. She is survived by her hus- band, Zeb Falls, of the home; sister, Elizabeth Pullen and husband Arthur of Mt. Holly; and Maleah; brother-in-law, Jerry Blalock, special family friends Sally Clark, Steve Jasmer, Buster Hail, Vickie Sponek Loete, Phemie and Mike McCracken, and all of Ruth Hail's grandchil- dren, Meek Falls, and Kevin Walls. HAROLD DEAN SWINK Harold Dean Swink, age 63, of Poors Ford Road, Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. Dean was born Monday, May 25, 1959 in Rutherford County to the late Roy Swink and Eliza Johnson Swink In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Randall, Mozelle Tate and Cora Hudgins; brothers, Ernest Swink, Durham Swink and two infant brothers. Left to cherish fond mem- ories are his son, Richard Swink of Bostic; sisters, Helen Shires of Mooresboro, Effie Blackburn of Shelby, Marthel Matheny of the Shiloh Community and a brother, Donald Swink (Janice) of Harris. ROY EUGENE CARVER Mr. Roy Eugene Carver, 81, of Cherryville, formerly of Weaverville, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Carver was born in Buncombe County, NC on December 17, 1940 son of the late Alfred Monroe Carver and Nellie Faye Gibbs Carver. He served in the US Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbert Biddix and one sister, Shirley Lawson.
