Driver going 115 mph said no good reason for speeding By Sherri Sebella News Editor sherri@pressdispatch.net An Indianapolis woman was cited for travelling 115 mph on I-69 Saturday, June 18. Indiana State Trooper Brayden Angermeier wit- nessed Amira Malcom, 28, of Indianapolis, southbound on Interstate 69, near the 41 mile marker, traveling 115 miles per hour. According to a probable cause affidavit, it took approx- imately four miles to catch up to the target vehicle. While catching up, Anger- meier witnessed the vehicle continue to pass other vehi- cles, while in the left lane, at an estimated to be more than 100 miles per hour. Angermeier eventually caught up with the driver after crossing into Gibson Coun- ty. The driver was hesitant to stop and eventually pulled over near the 37-mile marker. Angermeier told Malcom she was travelling 115 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone and Malcom replied, "Is that so?" and admitted there was no reason for her speed. She was issued a citation for speeding and informed that the prosecutor's office would review the incident and decide whether or not to file criminal charges for reckless driving.
