A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Charles Boyce and Oleen White Connor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Dean Connor and Charles Vestal Connor; and sisters, Nora May Connor and Doris Warlick. He is survived by his broth- er, Gary Wayne Connor and wife, Phyllis of Shelby. Funeral services were held May 6, 2022 at New Bethel Church of Shelby, with the Rev. Mark Patchett officiating. She was born to the late Clarence Alexander Newton and Mary Willie Sanders Newton on October 29, 1931 in Cleveland County, NC. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Roger Elon Bridges; daugh- ter, Phyllis Diane Bridges; two grandsons; seven sis- ing the family of Bobby Lee Johnson. KATHY SHUFORD WALKER Kathy Shuford Walker, 68, of Lawndale, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Born in Cleveland County, on May 24, 1953, she was the daughter of Guynell Hastings Shuford of Lawndale and the late William "Bill' Lee Shuford. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her hus- band, Wayne Lee Walker; two children, Sandy Hamrick and husband Rick of Lawndale and Brad Walker and wife Cortney of Shelby; brother, Keith Shuford and wife Jennifer of Boiling Springs; and five grandchil- dren. The Funeral Service was held May 7, 2022 at Olive Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrill Crump and Dr. Rick Hamrick officiating. The burial followed in the church cemetery. LINDA UPCHURCH DOVER Linda Upchurch Dover, 79, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Thomas Alton and Margaret Moss Upchurch and the widow of William (Junior) Dover. Linda is survived by her son, Tommy Dover and his wife, Amy, of Blacksburg and two grandchildren and a great granddaughter; her brother, Ronnie "Booger" Upchurch (Deidra); sis- ter, Trudy Upchurch Martin (Cecil); brother, Scott Upchurch (Cleetie); and sister-in-law, Diane Hardin Upchurch, all of Blacksburg. BOBBY LEE JOHNSON Bobby Lee Johnson, 74, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. A native of Rocky Mount, NC, Bobby Johnson was born on March 1, 1948, to the late Bobby Lee Johnson and Dorothy Lee Patterson Johnson. Bobby is survived by two children; son, Tony Ray Johnson (Georgette) and daughter, Vickie Ann Johnson; six sisters: Dot, Ella Rae, Sheila, Bessie, Mary, and Theresa; broth- ers, John and Stanley, and four grandchildren. Surviving in addi- tion to his wife is a son, Dale P. Petty of Mooresboro, NC; a brother, Mike Petty (Betty) of Chesnee; a sister, Linda Earls (Stanley) of Gaffney; and two granddaughters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Richard Petty.
