A native of Cleveland County, born April 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. and Florine Mull Peeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Ray Champion; one son, Joel Ray Champion; and one brother, Boyce Peeler. Peggy is survived by two sons, Bobby Champion (Chyrel Dibble), Mark Ray Champion (Sharon) all of Shelby; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held May 4, 2022 at Double Shoals United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Claudia Harrelson. Burial was in the church cemetery. No services are planned at the present time. COLEEN SELF BOSTON Coleen Self Boston, 84, of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Born in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Lee Self and Laura Minnie Brittain Self. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie "Bob" Boston; two brothers, Michael Self and Gene Self; and one granddaughter. Survivors include two sons, Vic Boston (Beth) and Ray Boston (Teressa); two daughters, Penny Grigg (Phillip) and Gail Gilbert (Brian); four brothers, Coy Self and Bobby Self, David Self and Farrell Self; five sis- ters, Merle Rhoney, Sandy Leatherman, Nell Baker, Joann Starnes and Judy Lovelace; nine grandchil- dren and ten great grand- children. The funeral service was held May 4, 2022 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Norton and Pastor Forrestene Sain officiat- ing. Sarah Young Mask was born May 6, 1942, in Boiling Springs, NC to the late Charlie Young and Lillie Mae Ponder. She was preceded in death by her parents, hus- band, David Mask; son, David Mask, Jr.; siblings, Louise Young Ross, Doris Young Hunt, Mary Ellen Young and Betty G. Young who were all of Shelby, NC, Charles Young of Forest City, NC, Coleman Young of Rock Hill, SC and Hilton Young of Suffolk, VA.
