April 17 - 23, 2022 • Terre Haute Tribune-Star • 19 tastytv BY GEORGE DICKIE Discover the joys of Discovery Networks culinary programming In the ever-expanding world of foodie TV, the Discovery Networks come forth this week with a slate of new and noteworthy programming that are worth checking out. At the top of the list is "Grill of Victory," which opens its second season Thursday, April 21, on Cooking Channel. Here, host Sabin Lomac challenges three of the country's best backyard grillers to create regionally inspired dishes in the hopes of winning a complete outdoor kitchen. In the season opener, the grillers tackle Southern chicken and coastal cuisine, with guest judges Susie Bulloch and Tregaye Fraser determining the winner. Also in the competitive vein is the season finale of "The Julia Child Challenge" Monday, April 18, on Food Network and discovery+, in which the three remaining home cooks face their final challenge, creating a four-course meal consisting of croque monsieur, duck a la orange, boeuf bourguignon and croquembouche. Judges Antonia Lofaso, Dorie Greenspan and Brooke Williamson determine the winner, who will get three months of study at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
