Grady was born on October 11, 1933 in Jackson County, NC to father Grady Seldon Ward, and mother Selma Laura Jones Ward Bradley. Mr. Ward served our country in the U.S. Airforce in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by father, Grady Seldon Ward; mother, Selma Ward Bradley; brothers, Cecil and Carl Ward; sister, Catherine Ward Brooks; and son, Grady Dallas Ward JR. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Grove Ward of Lawndale, NC; sister, Ellen Ward Ashe of Cullowhee, NC; son, Eddy Taylor of Shelby, NC; daughters: Sandra Brown of Lawndale, NC, Marsha Pearson of West Virginia, Cecilia Ward of Lawndale, NC; and eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral Services with full military honors was held November 3 at Zion Baptist Church in Shelby, NC with clergymen Dr. Story. Burial followed the service in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fallston, NC. MICHAEL JOSEPH NEWTON Michael Joseph Newton, 41, of Shelby, passed away on October 31, 2021. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Vernon Newton and Rhonda Crawford Newton of Shelby. She was born in Walker County, AL, daughter of the late Jimmy and Aleen Riddlesperger Glenn and was preceded in death by her son, Barry Kagan Davis, her brother, Joe Edward Glenn, and two sisters, Barbara Glenn and Laura Glenn Phillips and her signif- icant other, Danny Lansford. MARY HELEN GAMBLE Mrs. Mary Helen Gamble, age 79, was called to her Heavenly home Friday October 29, 2021. She is survived by her hus- band, Claude Gamble; three sons, Bryan Gamble and wife Stacey, Billy Gamble and wife Katherine all of Shelby, and Bobby Gamble of Grover; One daughter, Lisa Adams and Josh Bundy of Dallas, NC; Two sisters, Gwen Owens and husband Don, and Gloria Adams, all of Greenville, SC; and eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Born in Easley, SC on March 28, 1942, Mary was the daughter of the late James Coatsworth and Ruth Hamilton Martin. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lynn Gamble Cooke; and two brothers, Gordon Martin and James Martin. Born in Laurens, she was the widow of Ben Newman Neelands and the daughter of the late Walter Campbell and Della Campbell Patterson. Mrs. Neelands is survived by three sons, Ronald N. Neelands (Lynn D. Neelands) of Clover, Tony R. Neelands of Clover, and Jeffery L. Neelands (Laura Neelands) of Fletcher, NC; one daughter, Phyllis N. Taylor (Andrew L.
