Born in Cleveland County, NC, she was daughter of the late Early Battle Sr. and the late Reverend Elizabeth Thompson Battle. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Odessa Taylor, Matilda Battle, and Lizzie McDowell, five brothers: John Joseph, Danny Jerome, Robert Lee, Early Jr., and James Willis Battle, and three sisters-in- law: Miriam Battle, Patricia Battle, and Carrie Thomas Battle. She is survived by two brothers: Mr. Eddie Battle (Mary) of Atlanta Georgia and Mr. Christopher Norris of Gaffney, two sisters: Mrs. Christine Norris (Edward) of Mooresboro, NC and Mrs. Maria Jackson (Terry) of Forest City, NC; two sis- ters-in-law: Wilma Norris and Marnitta Jackson; and brother-in-law, Mr. William McDowell of Shelby, NC; Funeral services were held June 22nd, 2021 at Mikes Creek Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC. PRISCILLA HOEY BELL Ms. Priscilla Hoey Bell, 61, of Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 She was born on June 16, 1959 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Willie Hoey and the late Essie Jefferies Hoey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dean Bell and brothers, Ulysses Olivia of Kings Creek, SC; her maternal grand-parents; and her maternal step- grandmother. Beth was preceded in death by her mother, Angela Oliver Proctor; her paternal grand-parents; her great- grandmother; and her mater- nal step-grandfather. Congress St., York, SC 29745. JEFFREY LEON LEDFORD Mr. Jeffrey Leon Ledford, 58, of Gastonia, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021. Jeff was born on February 8, 1963 in Gaston County, NC; a son of Diane Green Willocks of Gastonia and the late Leon Ledford. Survivors include a daugh- ter, Kelly Scott and husband Robert of Mt. Holly; a son Jeffrey Scott Ledford of Gastonia; two grandchildren; a sister, Kimberly Pollock of Gastonia; two brothers, Fred Ledford of Bessemer City and Ted Ledford of Crouse. Goode, age 94, of Mooresville, NC, previ- ously of Cliffside, passed away Saturday, June 19. 2021. Helen was born Wednesday, April 27, 1927, in Cleveland County to the late William Surber and Myra Harbin Surber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Goode; and three brothers and four sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Ron Goode (Brenda); daughter, Cacheeta Pender (Joe); brother, Jim Surber; sis- ter, Marilyn Phagen; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. Born in Lincoln County, NC on June 20, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Frank William Clark and Sarah Leona Thompson Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Costner. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Stokes and husband, Robert of Shelby; four brothers, Chris Clark and wife, Wanda of Lincolnton, Jeff Davis and wife, Amy of Vale, Alex Clark and wife, Annie of Cherryville and Phillip Clark and wife, Dena of Cedar Bluff, VA; a sister, Michelle Sain of Cherryville; and seven grandchildren. Born July 13, 1946 in Guntersville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Betty Jean and Commie Gibbs. In addition to her parents, Nany is preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Short of Burlington, NC. Nancy is survived by one daughter, Karen Short Harrill and her husband, Robert E. Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Joel Kiser and Sarah Hill Kiser. Mr. Kiser is survived by his sister, Lisa Cody (Chris) of Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Frazier. Funeral services were held June 26, 2021 at Broad River Baptist Church of Blacksburg, with Rev. ROBERT JAMES "JIMBOB" NICHOLS Mr. Robert James "Jimbob" Nichols, 65, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born on November 21, 1955 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Robert Nichols and the late Beatrice Goodlett Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother.
