This service has proven itself to be especially valuable in recent weeks. Thanks to the gener- osity of many individuals, local companies, organizations and churches, the Neal Center has been able to assist those fac- ing the difficulty of purchasing food. If you're a Cleveland County resident, at least age 50, you're eligible for this service. Interested individu- als must call the Neal Center at 704/482-3488 to arrange an appointment for eligibil- ity. The center is current- ly open Monday through Thursday, 8:30AM-4:00PM. JOB DESCRIPTION CLEVELAND COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING/SENIOR CENTER JOB TITLE: HOUSING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB This position requires the selected applicant to perform semi-skilled trade and unskilled manual tasks in the maintenance of buildings and grounds, plus general housekeeping for the community buildings located at Marion West and West Warren Housing. It is the duty as Maintenance Technician to ensure that the buildings look clean and main- tained at all times. The position requires responsibility for ensuring that any potential hazards are taken care of immediately. As Maintenance Technician, the selected applicant must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, able to exert up to 40-50 pounds of force occa- sionally and up to 25 pounds of force frequently. The selected applicant is to conduct himself in a professional manner at all times and be able to speak to co-workers, res- idents, and others with dignity, voice control and confidence. The selected applicant must be able to respect supervision on all levels and adhere to the policies and pro- cedures of the Council on Aging/Senior Center. The selected applicant must maintain a positive, professional and respectful relationship with supervisors, co-workers, resi- dents, the COA staff and vendors. Work hours as outlined by the Council on Aging/Senior Center is 8AM-5PM, Mon- day-Thursday, and 8AM-1PM on Friday. The Maintenance Technician is required to report back to the property for after-hours emergencies when contacted by the Site Manager and not the residents.
