NOAH DANIEL "DAN" MAUNEY Noah Daniel "Dan" Mauney, age 49 of Charlotte, formerly of Cherryville, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Sardis Oaks in Charlotte. He was born October 9, 1970 in Cleveland County, the youngest of 4 children, to Doris Smith Mauney and the late Noah Lee "Pete" Mauney. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah & Bessie Mauney & Guy & Rosie Smith. In addition to his mother, Doris Smith Mauney, he is survived by his siblings, Mark and Dawn Mauney, Barbara Mauney McDaniel and Ann and Jeff Davis, all of Cherryville. WAYNE "BUTCH" LOWERY Wayne Lewis Lowery, 68, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 15, 2020 at his home. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Norman Lewis Lowery and Helen Matilda McSwain Lowery and was preceded in death by his brother David Lowery and sister, Kathy Thompkins. Survivors: Wife of 28 LIAM ASHTON DOVER On Saturday, July 11, 2020, 2 year old Liam Ashton Dover son of Erica DiMarco and Jason Dover left this world to be in Heaven. Liam was born on October 25, 2017 in Cleveland County. He will be sadly missed but will live forever in the hearts of those he touched, with his laughter and precious smile. In addition to his par- ents he is survived by his brothers, Mason and Anthony; maternal grand- parents Anthony and Dawn DiMarco; paternal grand- parents, Christie Peterson Ayers, Danny Ayers, and Johnny and Felicia Dover; aunts Samantha DiMarco and Miranda Ayers; uncles, Andrew Lowe and Justin Dover; and great-grand- parents, great aunts and uncles and many cousins and friends. The family will gather at the funeral home from 10:00 to 10:30 am Thursday. Following this time of gath- ering the family will escort Liam to Rose Hill Memorial Park for an 11:00 am grave- side service officiated by Rev. ASHLEY LEE ANDERSON CURRY Ashley Lee Anderson Curry, age 38, passed away on July 11, 2020 at her home in Kings Mountain. Born in Cleveland County on July 2, 1982 she was the daughter of Ronnie Dean Anderson and Betty Roberson Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie D. Anderson and her father- in-law, Charles Curry. Ashley is survived by her husband of 16 years, Tim Curry, one son Noah Curry, her mother Betty Anderson, two sisters Theresa Anderson Owensby and Nikki Moore, mother-in-law Teresa Curry and sister-in- law, Leslie Curry. CARL F. "BUD" HARRIS Carl F. "Bud" Harris, age 83, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby. Bud was born February 10, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late John Harris and Bessie Mitchell Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lucille Harris Hicks, and great-grand- daughter, Brehannah Swink. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Doris Hooper Harris; son, Carl Irby Harris (Linda) of Forest City; daughter, Yvonne Harris Haulk (Mark) of Forest City; five sisters, Frances Creola Harris Jones (Casey) of Forest City, Helen Irene Harris LaPage (Pop) of Mooresboro, Pansy Jane Harris McCraw (Gary) of Sunshine, Carmal Paulette Harris Smith (Kirk) of Bostic and Deborah Harris Crowe of Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Carl Timothy Harris, Sommar Harris Waters (Michael), Brianne Sane Swink (Chad), Brandon Sane and Bryson Sane (Cindal); twelve great- grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Pleasant View Community Church with Reverend Danny McCain and Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. GREENWAY Karen "Denise" G Greenway, age 64, beloved wife, mother, daugh- ter, sister and friend to so many, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Hospice-Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on July 16, 1955 she was the daughter of Harold Dean Garver and the late Mary Montrose Garver. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Greenway. JACQUELINE WRIGHT Ms. Jacqueline Wright, 52 passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born on December 20, 1967 in Cleveland County, NC to Christeen Wright and the late Wray Wright. In addition to her father, Jackie is preceded in death by her brother, Rayfert Wright; Maternal grand- mother Nannie Hopper; and paternal grandparents, Theodore "Nick" and Addie Wright. Left to cherish her phe- nomenal memories are her daughter, Tanika Wright, and son Gary Washington Jr. (Haley). Jackie had 6 grandchildren, who she referred to as her "angels in the outfield"; Harmony Washington, Jeremiah Adams, Sedric Miller, Garrett Washington, Gabriel Miller, and Gavin Washington. Her mother, Christeen H. Wright. 3 sisters, Mary W. Clark (Melvin), Beverly Wright Young (Blease), and Daphne Wright. The service for Ms. Wright was private. PAUL "DEAN" PHILBECK Paul "Dean" Philbeck, age 87, of Caroleen, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City. Dean was born May 26, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Durham Philbeck and Lillie Belle Sisk Philbeck. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Strantz Philbeck and two sons, Paul Dean Philbeck, Jr. and Robert Glen Philbeck. "MARY MAGDALENE HOPPER ALLEN MADDOX Mrs. Mary Magdalene Hopper Allen Maddox 79, of 206 East Shannonhouse Street, Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born on March 21, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late Garland Hopper, Sr. and Hattie Mae Ross Hopper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Allen; three chil- dren, Ella Mae Allen, Shirley Denise Allen and David Allen; two grandchildren, Tabatha Nicole Allen and Thomas Allen; one great- grandchild, Kyrie Jones; two brothers, Garland Hopper, Jr. and Hazelee Hopper; a sister, Carolyn Adams and a son-in-law, David Oglesby.
