The Indiana Depart- ment of Transportation an- nounced contractors will close S.R. 64 from just west of Lyle's Station Road to the business district in Prince- ton. Crews will mill down and resurface the roadway. During the project, the road will be closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained for local res- idents, but all others should use the official detour fol- lowing U.S. 41, S.R. 168 and S.R. 65. Work is expected to be complete by the end of Ju- ly, depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews. about 9 percent to 5.2 per- cent. According to the Indi- ana COVID-19 dashboard, 81 percent of the state's ven- tilators are available. Only 14 percent of the state's ICU beds are being used for CO- VID-19 as of now. Holcomb said the num- ber of hospitalizations in In- diana has also continued to decline. In Pike County, Gladish said none of the six COV- ID-19 cases has required hospitalization. She said she has noticed, as some of Indiana's Stay- at-Home order restrictions are being eased, she has no- ticed less people are wear- ing masks. She urged people to not let down their guard and encouraged people to wear masks when they are out in public places. Below are stages three to five of Indiana's Stay-at- Home order. STAGE 3 ON MAY 24 Older and at-risk Hoosiers may venture out cautiously. Those who can work remote- ly should continue to do so. Social gatherings of 100 or more may occur. Retail stores and malls may move to 75 percent ca- pacity; movie theaters at 50 percent capacity. Gyms and fitness centers may open, with restrictions on social distancing. STAGE 4 JUNE 14 Social gatherings of up to 250 people may occur. State government build- ings will be reopened to the public. Professional office build- ing employees may resume work at full capacity. Retail stores and malls may open at full capacity, with social distancing guide- lines still in place. Dining room service open may at 75 percent capacity; bar seating at 50 percent. Zoos, museums, bowling alleys and other tourism and cultural attractions may open at 50 percent capacity. "Our goal is to have all ar- eas of the state reach stage 5 beginning July 4" said Gov- ernor Holcomb. STAGE 5: "We'll continue to prac- tice social distancing, but conventions, fairs, sporting events, festivals and similar events may resume," said Holcomb. Retail stores, malls, res- taurants, bars, nightclubs, gyms and personal services may operate at full capacity. Restrictions will be lifted at tourism and cultural des- tinations. Holcomb emphasized he will only authorize mov- ing to the next stage if the four principals are still be- ing met. "If the four guiding princi- ples are not met, portions of the state may need to pause or return to an earlier phase of the plan," said Holcomb. "As life starts to slowly return to normal, making progress towards being ful- ly back on track will require constant vigilance from all of us. We're still all in this together. Successfully get- ting back on track is up to each of us." More details of Governor Holcomb's road map back can be found at BackOn- Track.in.gov. Continued from page 1 COVID-19 Three arrested on meth-related charges By Andy Heuring A quick stop to micturate on the Veterans of Foreign Wars parking lot Friday af- ternoon led to the arrest of three people on meth-relat- ed charges in Petersburg. David Pressley, 65, of New Richmond, Ohio, was preliminarily charged with possession of less than 5 grams of meth, a level 6 felo- ny; possession of marijuana; possession of paraphernalia; and maintaining a common nuisance. Teddy Sandlin, 57, no ad- dress listed, was preliminar- ily charged with the same charges, except he faces vis- iting a common nuisance in- stead of maintaining a com- mon nuisance. Kathy Thomas, 44, of Boonville, was preliminari- ly charged with public intox- ication, as well as the other drug-related charges. Petersburg Patrolman Scott Arnold said, at 4:30 p.m. Friday, he was dis- patched to assist Sgt. Chad McClellan and State Troop- er Brayden Angermeier with a report of people urinating on the VFW parking lot on Main St., Petersburg. Officer Arnold said when he arrived, Thomas was yell- ing and not following direc- tions. She was taken into custody by Sgt. McClellan and transported to the Pike County Jail. Arnold said when he talk- ed with Pressley and Sand- lin, while he was next to the vehicle, he could smell the strong odor of burnt mari- juana. According to Arnold, Pressley said he was driv- ing, and he had stopped at the VFW so he and Thom- as could urinate. Arnold said they did so in public, outside of the building. During a search of the ve- hicle, Officer Arnold said po- lice found a bag of marijua- na in the backseat, between a cooler and where Sandlin was sitting. A bag of marijua- na, a glass jar with a white residue, and a meth pipe, with a crystal substance that field-tested positive for meth, was found in the driv- er's door, as well as a mar- ijuana pipe in the backseat behind Pressley, and a wood- en box with marijuana in it was found on Pressley. Po- lice also found a bag of mari- juana in the glove box where Thomas was sitting and an- other bag of marijuana was found in the console be- tween the front seats. Arnold said when he ques- tioned Pressley about the drugs, he said he had one bag of marijuana, but didn't know anything about the other drugs. Sandlin told police he didn't have anything, "he was just along for a ride." Both Sandlin and Press- ley were taken into custody and transported to the Pike County Jail. it takes 3 minutes to subscribe to Call 812-354-8500
