Highway 56 to close near Ireland June 4 Highway 56 is scheduled to be closed near Ireland beginning Tues- day, June 4, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. It was originally scheduled to be closed on May 14, but that has been moved to June 4. Maintenance crews will close S.R. 56, between the junction of U.S. 231 and S.R. 257 in Otwell, as they re- place a drainage culvert. The actual replacement will be between Dubois County Road 600 and CR 550. The operation requires a full closure as crews will be making a full width cut in the pavement to excavate the exist- ing pipe. Once they're finished with the replacement, motorists should ex- pect a rough spot while fill material is compacted under traffic conditions, according to INDOT. The operation is scheduled to take two days, depending upon weather conditions. The closure will not begin un- til all school bus traffic has cleared for the morning and will be open for the afternoon bus schedule. During the closure, local traffic will have ac- cess up to the point of closure, but through traffic will need to use the official detour using S.R. 257, S.R. 64 and U.S. 231. Mills was driving around looking for it and at about 6 p.m. Tuesday found it parked behind the Old Petersburg Gym. He said it was owned by Christina Mattingly and was taken from the ar- ea near 14th and Walnut Sts. On April 30, a camper was stolen from John and Mindi Gayhart's res- idence in Campbelltown. Police said Mindi had been at a work site talking to her husband John and while she was driving to the hardware store to get parts at about 1 p.m., she noticed a camper in front of her and thought "that looks like our camper." When she returned home their camper was gone. A neighbor told them a green pick- up truck backed into their driveway and hooked up to the RV and then just drove away. The neighbor described the two men as a tall skinny blond and a heavy set dark-headed man. The neighbor said he thought it was just someone borrowing the camper for the weekend. The camper is a 28 foot Forest River camper. It has the word Puma in large light blue letters on the front of it and is mostly white in color with dark green trim on the bottom. Anyone seeing the camper or with information about it should call the Pike County Sheriff's Department at 812-354-6024. Continued from page 1 STOLEN
