C-2 Church Wednesday, March 6, 2019 The Press-Dispatch Continued in next column Continued in next column Continued from page 1 Sometimes, the best medicine is a dog who thinks their love can cure you. This week, PAWS is fea- turing an awesome dog named Disney, who is big, black and seldom gets a second look due to his size and color. This big fellow would prove to be your best friend if given a chance. Disney has been at PAWS about three years and would love to have an owner who will walk and spend quality time with him. He has short, smooth black fur and would adapt to an inside or outside liv- ing environment, has a great deal of Labrador her- itage, is very good natured and is quick to please. To adopt Disney, call 812-354-9894. PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the DISNEY Baptist Continued on page 3 Loving the 99, always look- ing for the one. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. Six reasons why you should trust God 1. He knows your name (Isaiah 43:1). 2. He will fight for you (Exodus 14:14). 3. He thinks about you (Psalms 139:17). 4. He has plans for you ( Jeremiah 29:11). 5. He is your refuge (Psalms 62:6 -8). 6. He is always with you (Matthew 28:20). "He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my de- fense; I shall not be moved. In God he is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him, God is a refuge for us" (Psalm 62:6 -8). Ken Reeder, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter MT. PISGAH G.B. CHURCH 6100 S. He that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD. . . . The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. Jesus spake unto them, saying, be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I my- self: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free and join us for servic- es. I am sure will leave be- ing blessed. May God bless each and everyone. Dust to Dust." You remind us today, oh Lord, of our origin and end. In the beginning, You fashioned us in the Garden. You dignified dust with the Breath of Life. You made us in your image and likeness. You led your people through the dust of the Sinai wilder- ness to the Promised Land. You overcame tempta- tion in the dry desert. You healed the blind with dirt and clay. Three times your body stirred the dust as you fell on the road to Calvary. Hear the cry of your peo- ple. One day we will return to dust. The Lenten season, stir our minds to contem- plate You, our hearts to love You and our bodies to serve You in our brothers and sis- ters. May our prayer, fast- ing, and almsgiving be your breath alive in us"—Amen. The whole point of Lent is to open up my limited views and get in touch with the great mystery who is God. This verse can be diffi- cult to understand to some, but it has such a powerful meaning. It explains how you can not just do the good things that you want to re- ceive or bless others the way you want to be blessed. You should do the good that pre- vents or stops the evil that you do not want to receive in your life. By helping others through problems that you would never want to face, or doing what is right in a horrid situation, you gain strength and wisdom in how to avoid that circumstance. We as Christians are in a constant battle between our human or worldly instinct and our spirit, trying to do what is right. Doing what is right is not always easy. But in the same breath, doing what is right is most always rewarding in some way, shape or form. God loves you. Strive to help others even in the most horrible of situations, and let God guide you to what is right. God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all ser- vices. Come and worship Je- sus with us. Moses asks in Exodus 33:16 "For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we are distinguished, Your people and I, from all the (other) people on the face of the earth? " God's people stand out be- cause of His Presence in our lives. We should ask ourselves if we stand out from the world as Believers. If not, we should cry out for His Presence to work in and through us. Are you making an impres- sion on those around you? Is it an impression that will allow others to see Jesus? If a person chooses to believe the Word of God (Bible), they can be saved, healed, delivered, filled with the power of the Holy Spir- it, and see mighty moves of God in their life. If a person chooses not to believe what God says in His Word, then that person can receive noth- ing from God.
