The youth wild turkey hunting season is April 20 -21 on selected Indiana Depart- ment of Natural Resources properties. Youth hunters or an adult representing them must reg- ister in person or by phone during the normal office hours for the property they wish to hunt. Hunters are al- lowed to register for only one property. A limit will be placed on the number of youth hunters allowed to hunt a respective property each hunting day in an attempt to provide quality hunts for participants. Participating DNR fish and wildlife areas include Atterbury, Chinook, Crosley, Deer Creek, Fairbanks Land- ing, Glendale, Goose Pond, Hillenbrand, Hovey Lake, Jasper-Pulaski, Kankakee, Kingsbury, LaSalle, Pigeon River, Roush Lake, Sugar Ridge, Tri-County, Waba- shiki, Willow Slough and Winamac. Youth hunts are also being offered at Missis- sinewa Lake and Salamonie Lake. Those wanting to sign up for Chinook or Wabashi- ki hunts may do so at Deer Creek FWA. Those want- ing to sign up for Fairbanks Landing or Hillenbrand hunts may do so at Goose Pond FWA. A drawing will take place on Monday, April 3, at prop- erties where the number of registered hunters exceeds the spots available. A youth hunter may be drawn for ei- ther one or both hunt days, depending on the number of applicants. All applicants will be notified of the draw- ing results by mail. Applicants must pos- sess a 2019 Youth Consoli- dated Hunting & Trapping License, a 2019 Non-Resi- dent Youth Spring Turkey License with a gamebird habitat stamp privilege, or a Lifetime Comprehensive Hunting License. Appren - tice hunting licenses of the types named above also may be used.
