All About Owls Time: 4 p.m. Where: Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts, N50 W5050 Portland Road, Cedarburg Cost: $6 each, or four for $20 The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts and Riveredge Nature Center combine resources to present twobird-themed family fun days. Participants will dissect an owl pellet, learn how quietly the birds stalk their prey and find out about owl species in the area. Milwaukee St, Port Washington Jane Goffin and Nina Walker will present a program about the Ozaukee Jail Literacy Program, a non-profit organization run by grants and financial help from organizations in the community It is run . primarily to offer either GED or HSED (High School Equivalency Diploma) to persons who are in jail. The program takes place at the Ozaukee County Justice Center and classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for four hours each day with a maximum of 10 students. Students range in age from 18 1/2 to 57 years of age, with the average being 30 years old. Both men and women make up the students. For information, call 284-9561. Lawton will demonstrate her work, talk about her creative process and answer questions about her writing and illustrations. There is no charge to visit the artist, watch her work and be inspired by her process. The artist will conduct two special workshops for adults. The first, titled "How to Self-Publish and Fund a Creative Project using Kickstarter.com," will discuss the process Lawton used to publish her own recent book, "The Circus and the Cyclone." The workshop meets from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 and is part of the CCC's special "Talent Incubator" series, designed to help emerging artists and performers become established in their fields of specialization. Cost of the workshop is $33 . Lawton's second workshop, "Illustration in Pen, Ink & Watercolor" focuses on the process of bringing a story to life through the magic of imagery The illustration . workshop meets from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 26.
