Main St., Thiensville Barenz spent a year and a half living in China, an experience that has inspired her latest exhibition. Barenz' paintings are known for their architectural imagery, particularly those of Milwaukee. Her latest works, though grounded in Milwaukee, illustrate her "fantastical" experience in China. Her paintings have been featured at Dean Jensen Gallery, the Racine Art Council and at events at the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. She is also featured in Schiffer Publishing's new book, "100 Artists of the Midwest," released in June. Students will learn the basics and a few variations in the most popular social dances including salsa, swing, rumba and waltz. Jan. 9 to Sunday, Feb. 3 2012 CCC membership exhibit and sale Where: Cedarburg Cultural Center, W62 N546 Washington Ave., Cedarburg In its inaugural year, this exhibit promises to highlight the creative and original works of the Cedarburg Cultural Center's own members. Expect a delightful array of varied media such as painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, fibers and mixed media. Port Washington Road, Mequon Cost: $65 per class This innovative fitness program is available to those 55 years of age and up. The program takes place in the pool, where participants focus on flexibility and range of motion in a warm water pool, while utilizing noodles and water weights. All exercises are led by Pam Hunt, who has a degree in therapeutic recreation, along with various ECP and NCP certified personal trainers. The specific workouts are designed to improve seniors' balance, strength, cardio and muscular endurance, allowing participants to modify each exercise to fit their specific skill/ability level.
