Free Septic System workshop August 3 There will be a free Septic System workshop, Friday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m.- noon (EDT). It is a "stop in and visit and watch" event being offered on a home construction site. A sand-lined septic system is being installed. At- tendees may stop by and stay for 15 minutes, or for an hour to watch the construction and learn more about how septic systems function. Anyone currently using a septic sys- tem, thinking about building a home that will use a septic system, or peo- ple using city sewers who would just like to see how septic systems operate would benefit from attending. Instal- lation and septic system maintenance will be discussed, and experts will be on hand to answer questions. The Septic System Workshop will be at 3051 W. 500 N., Jasper. The site is just off Portersville Road, north of the Jasper Middle School. Directions: Take Portersville Rd, turn west (left) onto 500 N. Go about 1/10th of a mile and the driveway is on the right side in the woods. Signs will be posted. For more information, contact Shawn Werner at the Dubois County Health Department at 812-481-7055. In the event of inclement weather that will not allow the installation of the septic system, the event will be postponed.
