Page 4 February 17, 2017 Arts and Entertainment 'Rings' fails with awful plot 'Rings' was released to theaters on February 3, 2017 as the third film in the 'Ring' franchise; it is classified as a supernatural horror film and was directed by F. Javier GutiƩrrez. 'Rings' starts off on an airplane and focuses on a male passenger nervously tapping against his seat Great acting, but terrible plot! theater and get a couple goose bumps on their arms. story line. Matilda Lutz did wonderfully with expression horror and determination within her character, and Alex Roe was great with his acting of a supportive and worried boyfriend. It disappoints me that because of this movie they might not get bigger roles. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone looking to waste money at the movie continues with their experience of Samara Morgan's cursed video. When I went to go watch 'Rings', I expected fright and suspense at every turn, but instead I only felt boredom and occasional fright. However, I believe that most of the actors within 'Rings' did a great job with their creator, but I feel terrible that they had to act out such a awful airplane starts to experience severe turbulence and the cursed video starts to play on electronics on the plane. Within the video you see the main antagonist, Samara Morgan (Bonnie Morgan) start to crawl out of the well and come after the male passenger. The movie then cuts to the main protagonist, Julia (Matilda Lutz), with her boyfriend, Holt (Alex Roe). The movie then armrest. He is then engaged in a conversation with a female passenger next to him. He reveals to her that he watched a cursed videotape that would kill him in seven days. He then elaborates and says he has five minutes until those seven days are over. Unfortunately for the passenger, karma catches on fast in horror movies. The Rebeccah Smith Staff Writer 'Overwatch' uses competition and 'Overwatch' is a first- person multi player video game available on the Ps4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, and was released from 'Blizzard Entertainment' on May 24, 2016. Overwatch focuses on putting users in battles that involve a six versus six or three versus three platform. There are a variety of different maps users can play on with twenty-two different heroes. However, despite the large count of characters, 'Blizzard' still makes sure that each and every hero receives a unique backstory, in-game abilities and personalities. Each character has several skins, voice lines and emotes that reflect them in some way. You are able to unlock these items by leveling up and acquiring loot boxes. Due to the number of characters in game, 'Blizzard Entertainment' has been able to release a number of events that have focused around the Summer Olympics, Halloween, Christmas, and Chinese New Year. As someone who has played the game for almost a year and a half, I may be slightly biased, but I think that 'Overwatch' is a great game for anyone looking for a new first-person shooter to play. 'Overwatch' is fun game that includes a variety of game modes and also features a competitive mode for the hard core gamers out there. While it may seem boring if you've never played it, 'Blizzard' always makes sure to keep an edge to their games by starting up new events or adding new characters to the game. In other words, 'Overwatch' is a perfect game for anyone who is looking for something that won't ever lose its edge in entertainment. Great game to play with friends and to pass the time. 'Gone' entertains with captivating story line Easton Ross Staff Writer 'Gone', by Michael Grant, is the most recent series and one of the best series I have read. In the Southern California town of Perdido Beach all of a sudden, the phone lines are out, there's no internet, and everyone over the age of fourteen disappears. Kids are looking adults right in the faces, no poof, no flash of light, they're just gone in an instant. There is not one single adult. This means all the kids who were in the car with an adult driving have crashed. All the single mothers and fathers with a helpless baby in the house leave it to die. As well as the fact that kids are developing supernatural powers, this book is nonstop action. After everyone disappears, the main character Sam Temple, scrambles to stop and save kids from starting fires, wasting food, and hurting each other. That's when the dome drops. The entire town of Perdido Beach is stuck under an under control and defend the town from a teen named Caine that has telekinesis and can kill you in an instant. He must also protect everyone from the space parasite that started all these strange occurrences. I would highly recommend this book to any teen that is into action and a little sci-fi because it is nonstop action and is unlike anything I have ever read. When I started reading it, I could not put it down. Even legendary horror writer Stephen King said the Gone series are "Exciting, high-tension stories. I love these books." Almost anyone can read these books and it's pure fast paced action. This series is one of the best I have ever read. Action-packed novel with a great storyline!!! 'Body Finder' delights with engaging story Stephanie Pena Staff Writer The Body Finder, written by Kimberly Derting, is about Violet Ambrose who can find murdered bodies. Each body has a distinct tone. A tone that is also left imprinted on the person or animal that caused the death. Her first encounter with finding a dead body was at the age of eight. She heard an echo calling to her and she followed it until she reached the source of it. It was a soul wanting to be put to rest. For a soul to be put to rest they must have a proper burial. Throughout the story girls begin to go missing and it hits Violet the hardest when a girl she used to be close to becomes one of those girls. She sets out to look for the murder only to become another one of his preys. This story also focuses on Violet and her best friend Jay. Have you ever known of those two people who are obviously dying for each other and everyone knows it, but them? Well for part of the book this is the case for Violet and Jay. It is slightly annoying and frustrating, but in the end romance grows. The mystery in this story brought a lot of curiosity into mind, which made it difficult to stop reading. An interesting thing that the author did in this story was incorporating the murderer's point of view and it took some getting used to. It can be quite difficult to go into the mind of a murder, which shows Kimberly Derting's ability to pass those barriers and write a story for a mature audience. Captivating book, a total page turner! with difficult equations Logan Carver Staff Writer Photomath is undoubtedly one of the most useful downloadable apps for Apple and Samsung devices that students everywhere should have; once the app is downloaded you are able to solve any question, or equation that you will ever desire. The app works by using the back camera on your phone to see the full equation, and using all the given information to solve the question. Not only does Then, you can edit the equation. There are multiple benefits to using this app, but there are also plenty of cons in using the app Photomath. Some benefits of Photomath are that it is a great learning tool for trying to solve complex problems, while still managing to learn how to solve the equation. The biggest con to using the app Photomath is that it does not recognize handwriting as well as it recognizes the printed problems on worksheets and textbooks. I believe that the app Photomath is an essential app for students to have, and use all throughout high school. the app solve the question and give you the answer, but it also provides a step by step guide on how the app got the answer if you click the red box at the bottom of the app. Instead of having the app solve for "x" you can have it solve for the least common multiple, greatest common factor as well as the Pythagorean theorem. The camera may not always get the equation fully correct, so in order to edit to the scanned problem tap the editor icon on the top of the app. Helpful app; very useful during the school year 'Resident Evil 7' provides Amanda Waugh Staff Writer try it out or watch Markiplier play it. This game has so much in store for you and all I can say from it is, "Welcome to the Family Son." becomes nothing to the game once you've found Mia. Mia ends up having the infection that the Baker family have and whether it's her or the family you have one job, finding the cure for either Mia or Zoe. The many aspects added to the game, for example, the many boss battles, the puzzles, creating your own health packs and ammo just adds on the experience. I am obsessed with this game and encourage others to received information that his wife Mia who has been missing for 3 years was located on the Derelict Plantation which was owned by the Baker family. What makes this so interesting is that you get to enter the house from the Demo but you end up learning so much more about everything that the original setting The Resident Evil series has had so many fans running for more ever since the new release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard created by Capcom.
