Poplar Street, Petersburg NALLEY TO PARTICIPATE IN IBCA/IHSAA UNDERCLASS SHOWCASE JULY 12 WE ARE PROFFESIONAL GRADE uebelhorgm.com 1-800-937-8721 Jasper, IN By Ed Cahill Pike Central High School rising senior Bryant Nalley will be among more than 200 boys' and girls' bas- ketball players who will participate in the 15th Annual IBCA/IHSA A Underclass Showcase on Tuesday, July 11, and Wednesday, July 12, at Ben Davis High School in Indi- anapolis. Staged by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with support from the Indiana High School Ath- letic Association, the Underclass Showcase is designed to give ex- posure to approximately 200 of In- diana's top basketball prospects – about 100 boys and about 100 girls – to colleges from around the state and the nation. The girls' showcase will be held on Tuesday, July 11, starting at 2 p.m. and lasting until approximate- ly 7:30 p.m., while the boys' show- case will be held on Wednesday, Ju- ly 12, starting at 3 p.m. and lasting until approximately 9 p.m. Because both showcases are NCA A certified, college coaches from all levels (NCA A Division I, NCA A Division II, NCA A Division III, NAIA and NJCA A) may attend to evaluate the participants. A 6 -foot-5 forward, Nalley was named to the Pocket Athletic Con- ference's All-Conference team, then received honorable mention All- State accolades when the IBCA/ Subway boys' all-state teams for the 2016 -17 season were announced in March. During his junior campaign, Nalley averaged 13.6 points, 5.9 re- bounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals as the Chargers went 15 -12 while repeating as sectional champions. He enters his senior season having scored a total of 823 points in his high school career. Nalley also participated in the IB- CA/IHSA A Underclass Showcase as a rising junior last July. "The IBCA/IHSA A Underclass Showcase is a very prestigious event," said Pike Central boys' bas- ketball head coach Jason Roach. "This is the second year in a row he has participated, which speaks to the type of seasons he's had the past couple of years. It is very com- mon for talented players to be invit- ed two years in a row, but it does take a special player for that to hap- pen. I believe we all agree Bryant is a special player." "We are really excited for Bryant to attend and showcase his ability," Roach added. "It is a big deal not on- ly for Bryant and his family, but for our entire program as well. We have had some pretty special players the past few years and a lot to be excit- ed about with Pike Central basket- ball. Bryant deserves all the acco- lades for his hard work and dedica- tion, but I think he'd be the first to tell you that he would not be in that position without his teammates."
